Cutlery Sets

I love how many knives this set comes with, as the block and kitchen shears! I love that all the knives are numbered, and the wood block is numbered as well so you know where to put what knife. On the block next to the numbers is written what the knife is used for, which is also great in helping me decide which knife to use for what product! I just love that! Im an organized person, and like lists and labels.. so to me this is a really great feature! Overall these knives are fantastic. They are extremely sharp, really easy to clean, and in general very pleasant to use. One slightly odd thing is that the knife block has many more slots than knives, so it looks like you are missing items in the set. The set comes as advertised (7 pieces - four knives, a sharpener, scissors, and the block) but there are slots for probably 10+ knives. This just makes it look a little odd on on the counter. My Mother's 58th Birthday was coming up as well as My Stepfathers 65th. Two weeks apart. I knew she needed new knives as dinners of the years there you can see that the knives she had were A) still the same knives she had when I was a kid and B) warped from inproper sharpening. I looked at the local stores and just couldn't find anything in the price range I was looking for. Originally I budgeted for a single Knife. I stumbled apon Wayfairs and from a recomendation from a friend...who actually works in a Knife store...looked at the Wustof knives. When this set popped up at it's prices I was amazed. It sells up here in Canada for $500.00 on sale. I went into the knife shop and handled them and they were spot on for weight, look and feel for what I wanted to get them. I ordered them right away from Wayfair.[...]My mom phones me daily since getting them and is absolutely in love with them. Good knives are important in a kitchen. I opened mine last week and told my husband ' I only had to point the knife at the onion and it sliced it!" They glide through foods - made awesome salmon tartare and minced herbs in no time. There are a couple of 'extra' spaces in the bottom of the knife block Maybe these are for steak knives if you order them, but I just popped in a few of my other paring knives."..."  Read more
