Love the pot--not crazy about the coffee Just back from a trip to Spain, where we drank fantastic 'espresso' from a classic aluminum Bialetti stovetop. Wanted to recreate the experience at home, but from reading on line I was dissuaded from buying an aluminum pot. I love the look of this pot--very stylish. Though I knew that a '6-cup' espresso pot wouldn't make much coffee I was a little surprised at how little--basically makes 1 of my usual generous morning mugs. Bottom line was that I was disappointed in the taste of the coffee--just couldn't get it to really make a deep, rich brew. I admit that I may be doing it wrong--it makes a lot of noise as the water gurgles up through the grounds, and then, when I expected it to stop, it would just keep going. I never knew when it was done! If I opened the top and peered in, it would appear that I was just boiling the coffee I had made already. Anyway--I am back to my Bodum press...sigh... |
