Very versatile and easy to use

I got this unit to coax an ailing but very finicky family member into eating more fruits and veg by "hiding" them in frozen yogurt and ice cream concoctions. In about 30 minutes, including prep time, I was able to create a huge variety of truly tasty treats that were a hit. Even though they all contained sizeable servings of kale! : ) Results were smooth, perfectly frozen and textured every time. a lifesaver.

I was selected to review a product for Wayfairs. After much debate I used the code they provided towards the Cuisinart Pure Indulgence 2 Qt. Frozen Yogurt-Sorbet & Ice Cream Maker - ICE-30BC. We've always wanted one, and thought the kids would get a kick out of making their own ice cream. So far we've used it to make not only vanilla bean ice cream, but also raspberry lemonade slushies. My kids are crazy about the convenience store frozen treats. I'm not a fan of the yucky stuff in them (like the evil high fructose corn syrup). I picked up a bottle of all natural raspberry lemonade from the grocery store so we could try to make our own at home. You just pour it in, and let it freeze. Delish! The bowl must be frozen prior to use, and that takes about 24 hours. We have ours in a large ziploc bag, and keep it in our freezer. That way it is always ready when we are. It is softer than most ice cream, but that is an easy fix. Just put it in a freezer safe container, and pop it the freezer for an hour or two. We did this with our leftover vanilla bean, and two days later it was still yummy. We're thrilled with our new ice cream maker, as well as with the Wayfairs experience. [...] they have a huge selection of products. [...]We'll definitely shop there again.

Simple to use and with a neat modern design, this little machines churns out ice creams/sorbets/sherbets/frozen yogurts in "as little as 25 minutes".The machine is small enough to sit easily on the counter top and stay put there with the suction base without sliding off and big enough to make up to 2 quarts of of frozen dessert at a time. It looks sleek with brushed metal finish, is fully automatic and has a heavy duty motor. The parts are extremely easy to assemble together; they just comfortably fit in together without any turns or twists. Set the freezer bowl to the base, place the paddle/arm in the bowl and put the lid on an you are ready to go. The ingredients can be easily poured in through the opening in the lid and is totally mess free.I haven't tried any recipe from the included recipe book, but took a chance and made my own sherbet [@], mango ice cream and fresh strawberry ice cream; yes 3 ice creams in one week!. (The recipe book does have some enticing recipes and I will try most of them in the future.) The result was consistent every single time; I was not disappointed with the outcome all the three times. The ice cream was the perfect texture – light airy smooth and seriously good! I am sure I will make many more with the hotter months ahead of me.Few important things to remember if you want the best results: 1. The freezer bowl needs to be chilled. When not frozen you will hear the liquid inside when you move the bowl around. When it freezes and it is rightly chilled you will not hear the moving liquid. 2. The ingredients need to be chilled before you pour them in the machine. 3. The immediate result is a soft serve ice cream, so if you like firmer scoop plan ahead of time and freeze the soft serve ice cream in an airtight container for at least 4-5 extra hours or overnight. 4. If you are planning to make ice creams as frequently as I did this week, it is a good idea to use the freezer bowl, clean it and put it back in the freezer. It cleans up quick and easy like new, and there not much to clean up anyway other than the bowl, the paddle and the lid. This has to be my favorite gadget right now. Needless to say the entire family is as excited as I am. The kids are having the ice creams their way and they too see the possibilities of making infinite kinds from now on.Disclosure:This is a honest product review. Wonderfully Simple and Delicious

I ordered the ice cream maker as a Christmas gift for my husband and our family. Being a smart wife (sometimes) I opened the box and pre-froze the bowl to be able to make a batch immediately upon opening. My husband was thrilled when we ate some soft yummy chocolate ice cream before bed the same night he opened it. We used the recipe for basic chocolate ice cream from the booklet that came with the machine and found it to be quite good. We've also made the slushy brown cow (and made strawberry following the recipe as well) and that was a big hit. The machine does a good job of freezing the ice cream in the time it says it will take (20-30 minutes depending on the recipe and personal preference.) I do think it is a bit loud, but we typically start it and move into another room until it is almost finished. I do wish the top was not totally open so that there would be no chance of things falling in when there are children around, but it does make it easy to add in things part way through the freezing process.
