I love coffee so I will give you the good and bad on the Cusinart. My thermal Mr. Coffee maker finally kicked out after ten years of hard use with our large family drinking coffee constantly. I did as much research as I could before buying another and I opted for this model. It is very hard to find a 12 cup coffee maker. The pros: Looks beautiful on your countertop, easy to use, coffee is nice and hot and lasts hot in the carafe all day long! Produces a great cup of coffee that everyone loves! easy to clean, and of course 12 cups and is programmable for our early morning.

I've been using this for a few months and it brews great coffee. For optimum extraction from the beans the water needs to be between 195 and 205 degrees. My machine starts around 192 and ends up around 208. I use the gold tone filter. Some people have had the paper filter restrict the flow of water resulting in overflow. It's a 12-cup unit, but I can't get more than 20 or 22 tablespoons of grounds in it so usually just go with 10 cups. Screwing on the lid is very critical. I start with "Close" over the pour spout and then screw it on until "Pour" is directly over the pour spout. I can brew a pot at night and when I wake up the coffee is still fairly hot. Cuisinart recommends a medium-fine grind. If you grind finer you might find it overflows since the water can't flow through quickly enough. You also need to run vinegar or a cleaning product through this on a regular basis.
2 time Cusinart coffee maker owner
mrs.jennyz from Minnesota
OK folks, I'm gonna be painfully honest here. I'm going on my SECOND Cusinart coffeemaker, here. Why? Because if you don't twist on the carafe lid PERFECTLY and load the basket full of coffee grounds PERFECTLY, then the coffee will not go into the pot. Instead, it will LEAK ALL OVER and go on the couter top, floor, etc.(people that have coffee makers that have metal/warming pots will back me up on this one) It happened about 5 times with the first one I owned and only happened 3 times with the second one before the coffee maker completely died.It happens maybe 2 times a year when you're not totally awake when you set up the coffee and turn the pot on. The other thing is, the white lettering on the front of the coffee pot base by the buttons labeled "ON","HOUR", "MIN" ,"AUTO"- yeah,um that lettering completely rubs off if you wash the base besides anything with water and a soft cloth. See where I'm going here folks? If you do not have the light precise touch of neonatal intensive-care nurse, this machine may not last more than 2 years in your kitchen. The good news?-it makes decent coffee and the carafe keeps it hot for hours and you can program it to make the coffee before you wake up(just put the unit in your empty, dry kitchen sink in case it leaks everywhere).
The Chef's classic 12 cup thermal coffee maker
Noelle from Lakebay, WA– Verified Buyer
The coffee maker arrived earlier than estimated, a pleasant surprise. The thermos when full is a bit heavier than my previous glass coffee pot, but other than that, it is an excellent coffee maker. The suggestion to prime the thermos with hot water prior to starting the brew cycle does extend the length of time the coffee remains hot.
Chef's Classic Stainless Steel 12-Cup Programmable Thermal Coffee Maker
Sherie from Waukesha, WI– Verified Buyer
I love this coffee pot! It's hard to find a 12 cup thermal pot anywhere and I've looked. The inside of the pot is also stainless which means no hard to remove coffee stains like you see with aluminum lined pots. Keeps your coffee hot for hours. Great buy!

When I received my coffee maker, the top part, where you pour the water in, was cracked. I emailed immediately and explained what was wrong. Within 24 hours I received an email back saying another coffee maker was being sent. It came quickly and was in perfect condition. I love this coffee maker. It's fast, keeps the coffee HOT and tastes great!!!
Very good coffee maker

I picked this one because of the thermal carafe, which keeps coffee warm for a long time. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it is quite large. I knew what I was getting and thought the size was worth the trade-off but be sure to check the dimensions before you buy.
Great thermal coffee maker

I chose this coffee maker because of its thermal and programmable features. Both work great. Easy to program, although the numbers could be a little larger. The thermal carafe keeps coffee steaming hot for at least 2 hours. Easy to use and clean.
Beautiful to look at and great coffe

This pot keeps coffee super hot on the table at breakfast. I just love it. One draw back is the lid- it can be on crooked, so be careful when you tighten it
Love my thermal coffee maker

I love waking up to an already brewed cup of coffee. I also love that the last cup tastes just as fresh as the first cup.
