Large Coffee Maker meets expectations from Fort Mill, SC on 10/17/2015 – Verified Buyer
We recently had to retire our OLD (12 yrs) 10 cup Cuisinart coffee maker w/the bean grinding functionality. We'd STOPPED using the grinder functionality shortly after we got that coffeemaker b/c the bean container wasn't large enough to grind enough for the coffee strength my husband and I like--we like strong coffee. So I searched for a replacement WITHOUT the grinder and saw this Cuisinart 12 cup--a larger pot of coffee and it seemed like a good choice. We've been using it for a few weeks now but I have found that I need to grind a bit more coffee for our strength preference because this coffee maker doesn't have that same 1-4 cup feature our older one did--which dripped the coffee more slowly for stronger taste. But now that I've got the adjustment made we are very pleased w/this coffee maker. It keeps the coffee warm a little longer than our prior Cuisinart model I suspect from the tight cap system. On that note the cap is a little tricky to get aligned so that once you complete the sealing the "Pour" arrow lines up w/the spout but I've figured it out now and like this tight cap system. The only other thing I found that I'd suggest the manufacture look at in design is that you can't visibly read the cup counter numbers looking at the water column head on--you have to turn the unit to the side to see it. But again I've figured out where the floater land to correspond w/our cup usage. I am looking forward to using the full pot at 12 cups when we have guests for the holidays though! Will be so much better than our old one at 10 cup that really only yielded 6 large mugs of coffee. All in all we're pleased w/this coffee maker.

Pros: large 12 cup capacity; easy to clean; easy to program; thermal insulated carafe keeps coffee hot for hours
Cons: wish this coffee maker had a drip strength feature like our old Cuisinart w/1-4 cup drip option or similar; number of cups not visible from water column looking at the unit head on

LOVE!! from cape may, NJ on 11/12/2014 – Verified Buyer
I love coffee so I will give you the good and bad on the Cusinart. My thermal Mr. Coffee maker finally kicked out after ten years of hard use with our large family drinking coffee constantly. I did as much research as I could before buying another and I opted for this model. It is very hard to find a 12 cup coffee maker. The pros: Looks beautiful on your countertop, easy to use, coffee is nice and hot and lasts hot in the carafe all day long! Produces a great cup of coffee that everyone loves! easy to clean, and of course 12 cups and is programmable for our early morning.

Cons, The coffee maker is very big and I have to pull it further out on my counter to open my cabinets, The lid is a cheaper plastic version then my old Mr. Coffee, and the carafe is very heavy!! These are my only cons. We are very happy with the purchase and we are grateful to once again have a great cup of coffee. I had to use a cheap 20 dollar one for a week and trust me I suffered LOL Anyway I recommend it highly but do keep in mind the size and just the carafe is a bit heavier then most. It's AAA plus for me..

Great coffeemaker from Los Angeles, CA on 03/18/2012
I've been using this for a few months and it brews great coffee. For optimum extraction from the beans the water needs to be between 195 and 205 degrees. My machine starts around 192 and ends up around 208. I use the gold tone filter. Some people have had the paper filter restrict the flow of water resulting in overflow. It's a 12-cup unit, but I can't get more than 20 or 22 tablespoons of grounds in it so usually just go with 10 cups. Screwing on the lid is very critical. I start with "Close" over the pour spout and then screw it on until "Pour" is directly over the pour spout. I can brew a pot at night and when I wake up the coffee is still fairly hot. Cuisinart recommends a medium-fine grind. If you grind finer you might find it overflows since the water can't flow through quickly enough. You also need to run vinegar or a cleaning product through this on a regular basis.

Perfect from Washington D.C. on 12/12/2015 – Verified Buyer
I am a coffee snob and this is the best coffee maker I've ever used. The carafe keeps the coffee hot for a very long time. Although the capacity is large, the footprint is small. The maker heats to the correct temperature quickly and the shower head means the coffee grounds are evenly saturated. The swing-out basket makes filling and cleaning easy.

Pros: Perfect heating and dispensing, very well-brewed coffee
Cons: The carafe needs to be well-seated or it won't fill properly.

Love It -- Makes Great Coffee and Looks Great from Dallas, TX on 10/28/2015 – Verified Buyer
Love this coffee maker ... I have this coffee maker and bought a second as a birthday gift. The birthday boy wanted a maker with a carafe that keeps the coffee hot without it sitting on a burner. This carafe keeps the coffee hot for hours and has a nice sleek look.

Pros: Keeps coffee hot
Cons: The maker is higher than some and if you want it to fit under your cabinet make sure to check measurements

2 time Cusinart coffee maker owner from Minnesota on 01/31/2011
OK folks, I'm gonna be painfully honest here. I'm going on my SECOND Cusinart coffeemaker, here. Why? Because if you don't twist on the carafe lid PERFECTLY and load the basket full of coffee grounds PERFECTLY, then the coffee will not go into the pot. Instead, it will LEAK ALL OVER and go on the couter top, floor, etc.(people that have coffee makers that have metal/warming pots will back me up on this one) It happened about 5 times with the first one I owned and only happened 3 times with the second one before the coffee maker completely died.It happens maybe 2 times a year when you're not totally awake when you set up the coffee and turn the pot on. The other thing is, the white lettering on the front of the coffee pot base by the buttons labeled "ON","HOUR", "MIN" ,"AUTO"- yeah,um that lettering completely rubs off if you wash the base besides anything with water and a soft cloth. See where I'm going here folks? If you do not have the light precise touch of neonatal intensive-care nurse, this machine may not last more than 2 years in your kitchen. The good news?-it makes decent coffee and the carafe keeps it hot for hours and you can program it to make the coffee before you wake up(just put the unit in your empty, dry kitchen sink in case it leaks everywhere).

Just great! from Manalapan, NJ on 04/22/2015 – Verified Buyer– Top 5 Reviewer
This coffee maker is the best one out there! It keeps the coffee hot for hours. I have tried quite a few different ones even same brand but different maker, we go through alot of coffee at my house daily and I like it hot. Only one that keeps it that way and it has the best flavor. If you want your coffee hot and to stay that way this is the best!

Keeps coffee hot for hours. from Boonville, MO on 05/14/2015 – Verified Buyer
I love this coffeepot. I saw where someone complained about the lid being difficult to screw on properly. You do have to be careful to get it in the groove in the beginning, however if it's started right, it will screw on correctly.

Pros: Keeps coffee hot for a long time.
Cons: None
