Great coffeemaker I've been using this for a few months and it brews great coffee. For optimum extraction from the beans the water needs to be between 195 and 205 degrees. My machine starts around 192 and ends up around 208. I use the gold tone filter. Some people have had the paper filter restrict the flow of water resulting in overflow. It's a 12-cup unit, but I can't get more than 20 or 22 tablespoons of grounds in it so usually just go with 10 cups. Screwing on the lid is very critical. I start with "Close" over the pour spout and then screw it on until "Pour" is directly over the pour spout. I can brew a pot at night and when I wake up the coffee is still fairly hot. Cuisinart recommends a medium-fine grind. If you grind finer you might find it overflows since the water can't flow through quickly enough. You also need to run vinegar or a cleaning product through this on a regular basis. |

I LOVE THIS COFFEE POT I have had this pot for about 1 year. It has been the best at keeping the coffee hot for hours without with coffee getting bitter. I would buy this pot again |

We love this coffeemaker!! We have had this coffeemaker for almost a year and we absolutely love it! It stays hot for hours. I turn it on at 4:15am and hubby doesn't get up until around 7 - 8am and it still hot. We have never had any problems with this item and would highly recommend! |

2 time Cusinart coffee maker owner OK folks, I'm gonna be painfully honest here. I'm going on my SECOND Cusinart coffeemaker, here. Why? Because if you don't twist on the carafe lid PERFECTLY and load the basket full of coffee grounds PERFECTLY, then the coffee will not go into the pot. Instead, it will LEAK ALL OVER and go on the couter top, floor, etc.(people that have coffee makers that have metal/warming pots will back me up on this one) It happened about 5 times with the first one I owned and only happened 3 times with the second one before the coffee maker completely died.It happens maybe 2 times a year when you're not totally awake when you set up the coffee and turn the pot on. The other thing is, the white lettering on the front of the coffee pot base by the buttons labeled "ON","HOUR", "MIN" ,"AUTO"- yeah,um that lettering completely rubs off if you wash the base besides anything with water and a soft cloth. See where I'm going here folks? If you do not have the light precise touch of neonatal intensive-care nurse, this machine may not last more than 2 years in your kitchen. The good news?-it makes decent coffee and the carafe keeps it hot for hours and you can program it to make the coffee before you wake up(just put the unit in your empty, dry kitchen sink in case it leaks everywhere). |
