Fantastic in Nearly Every Way!

I ordered this crate on Saturday. It arrived a couple of hours ago and I am so impressed I had to log in and review it right away. This product comes flat packed and is a solid 40-50lbs upon arrival. I unpacked it an empty garage bay and took a few pieces up here or there over the course of an hour. The top is by far the heaviest part. While unpacking I noticed the high quality of the wood. Fortunately, there were no scratches, dents or nicks in any of the parts. The light melamine bottom is nice, and will hopefully make for easy clean up should any accidents happen. My original intent was to merely "stage" the parts up in our bedroom for my husband to put together. My inability to put furniture together well is somewhat legendary in our household. When he heard I was buying this and that it required assembly he asked, "Please, just let me put it together." More than once he's had to completely disassemble something I've screwed up because I put a left part on the right side or something like that, just to fix it. I brought all the pieces up and looked at the instructions. They were so simple, easy to follow and straightforward I couldn't resist putting it together myself. I loved that there were only two types of screws, and no other fastening hardware to sort out. All the counts were correct and I got to work, 15-20 minutes later I had everything put together, and the crate moved into position. As soon as I turned my back, my Golden Retriever meandered her way in to check everything out. She knew instantly it was for her, as it replaced an ugly wire collapsible crate we used to have in the same location. The only reason I'm docking the product one star is that there are small gaps between the sides, front, back and the melamine bottom. No amount of tightening screws (which you're informed multiple times NOT to do anyway) would fix this. Not usually a problem, but one of the reasons I wanted a crate like this is so that messy accidents won't seep out onto the floor. (We had a severe diarrhea incident with her a few months back that our carpet has STILL not recovered from.) I plan on purchasing some clear silicone caulking to line the bottom of the interior floor to seal up the small gaps. Once that's done, this crate will be absolutely perfect. It's lovely and it matches our furniture. I purchased the "espresso" color and I was expecting a very neutral brown, but this definitely has hints of red in it, which works out very well because our bedroom set is cherry wood, so it blends. If you're thinking of spending the money to buy this, just take the plunge and do it. Yes, it's pricey, but considering it will be something we keep for as long as we own dogs, it's worth it!

I got two in Medium for Irish Terriers and they came in huge boxes to the front stoop. Stacked and well packed pieces came out of the heavy package. It went together well, no missing pieces, no confusion. With two I wanted one at each end on the sofa, but there is no way to swing the door the other direction. There is Plexiglas on the inside of the door which can be removed with four screws when your dog is ready. The material is pretty sturdy, but when the dogs start wiggling and getting excited it sounds like they could barge right out. They haven't and seem to be okay in there and they look so much better than the metal and plastic crates I had before. I don't mind the white floor, but there is no room for a mat and have the door swing in. Plus, the dogs like to go in and get pinned to the side by the swinging door. Pretty funny actually, they're learning though. Recently I noticed dog number 2 has been chomping on the side slats. I suspect he's just bored and could chew right through if he wanted out, but he hasn't. Money spent and the dog wrecks it, what's new?

We are completely thrilled with this crate. It is such a great improvement from the standard wire crates. Our 80lb adult labrador loves it, too. I was skeptical of the quality of the wood and finish when we purchased it, but it far exceeded my expectations. It does really look like a piece of furniture. There are only two potential downsides of this crate which weren't a factor for us: the interior height of the crate is a few inches shorter than a standard 42" wire crate. Our dog can sit down in it, but just barely. Also, I wouldn't recommend this crate for a puppy. While the floor does have an easy clean surface, it does not slide out for easy access. Puppies tend to make all sorts of messes in their crates, and the slide out floor is a godsend for that. However, if interior height and a slide out floor aren't deal breakers, I'd highly recommend this crate.
Great Crate/End Table

This crate was easy to put together and looks great. I've had numerous compliments on how nice it looks in our family room. Our puppy likes it too. He even goes in there in the evening to snooze when we are watching TV. So far I've had no issues with him chewing the upper wood bars. He is in that terrible puppy chewing phase too. The Plexiglass front panel is on place for now and that doesn't seem to bother him or deter from the attractiveness of the piece. One concern I have is that the bottom is not a water-tight or removable plastic tray. I placed an old bathroom rug under the crate in the event our puppy has an accident... So far no problems there.

I purchased 2 of these for my dogs as I was sick of looking at their sturdy but old plastic cages. I will keep the plastic cages for travel. I use these as end tables and their crates. The large size is LARGE; however the medium which would have fit better as tables were just a tad too small for my larger dog (50lbs) and all her "babies". She likes to stretch out also. My son put the cages together easily and they look nice. I love how the door slides inside the cage so you can leave it open. They arrived in good condition. I read the reviews and agree buy it.
Great pet crate disguised as furniture!
Michael from Springfield, VA – Verified Buyer
This crate works perfectly as both sleeping quarters and a secure space for when we need to confine our dog when we're out for a couple hours. She also likes it as a quiet retreat when she wants to be alone. It has the perfect combination of half solid walls for that necessary feeling of enclosure and half ribbed for adequate ventilation and viewing. The wood surface blends nicely with the rest of the furniture in the room. Pros: Attractive, easy to assemble, comfortable Cons: None, really, for us
LOVE LOVE LOVE.

My baby's new crate arrived today, and I was so excited to get it all set up for her, it was super easy to put together, even for someone who's not that great with building things. I got the Espresso color, and it goes beautifully with all our furniture, I got the medium and it's very spacious for my tiny 7lb Chihuahua, but the way the crate is made, so that the bottom part all the way around (except the front door) is enclosed, so she feels secure, and the top part is barred/open so she has that ventilation. There's a lot of room on it to actually use as an end table. Once I move, it'll look very nice in my bedroom and it can double as an end table! Highly recommend this product, especially for the price! I see pet crates like this that go for $400-$500. It's the same quality, if not better! Super happy. :)

This is a stylish, beautifully made crate, which both my dog and I love. It looks like a lovely piece of furniture, but functions wonderfully for our 40-45 lb. Spanish Water dog. We moved to a new house and got rid of the crate she had slept in since she was a puppy. We were afraid that she would not like her new sleeping place and that it would look pretentious. She loves her crate and so do we. It fits perfectly in our bedroom. People comment positively on it all the time. It was easy to set up and Wayfair is wonderful.

This is a nice crate. I have a high energy lab that is 1 1/2 years old and was worried it would hold up. One month in and its great. The staining wasn't real consistent one one panel and a corner was a little damaged which was disappointing for the money. Still looks a lot better than the metal crate I had previously.
attractive way to kennel pets while getting a table to boot!

Easy to assemble, but a bit wobbly. Parts don't fit together tightly. But is is good looking as an alternative furniture piece instead of starring at a plastic cratekennel. Door latches to the left which is a bit awkward....wish they made it either on the right or reversible choice. Swivel hook latch is firmly attached to door, but don't think it would hold up against an animal slamming against the door. Overall, for my situation it is great.
