Great kitchen island!
James from Issaquah, WA – Verified Buyer
It took us a while to assemble (about 8 hours), but the island arrived in perfect condition - all parts arrived undamaged, were well-packed and clearly labeled - and it looks great. The granite surface is heavy but manageable for an adult couple to lift and seems very durable. There are two minor points to watch out for during assembly - 1) when you slide the boards that make up the back of the island into place, there will be a cam screw blocking the way of one of the panels even if you followed all the earlier instructions correctly. This can be fixed by temporarily removing the post w a groove that the back panel should slide into (it's not attached at that point), putting the panel in place, then sliding the post down the length of the panel, back to its original position. 2) At the end of the assembly, we thought there was a flaw with one of the center doors because it didn't fit -- there wasn't enough vertical space to fit it. Finally, we realized that the weight of the granite top was causing the center of the kitchen island to sag very slightly, so if one person really pulls upward on the middle of the island to relieve that pressure, another should be able to snap the door into place! All in all, we have really enjoyed having more counter space in the kitchen and have found the island to be attractive and durable.

I was really looking forward to getting this piece, and once it was put together, I was very happy. It's a great addition to my kitchen. Well constructed, good looking and adds a lot of space. Really pretty. This line of furniture is incredibly easy to assemble (per hubby who has had much practice). It takes time, but it's a big piece (have an extra set of hands for attaching the granite top - it's heavy). He said the instructions are very clear and very easy to follow. Everything lines up so there's no trouble there. And the one place we did have a problem (on a smaller companion island), the response was fast and courteous. Four stars instead of five because the two end door areas are really too small. Reconfiguring this island to have only two doors and one open space in the middle or three doors would vastly improve its usability. This cabinet shipped with both bun feet and casters. We used the bun feet since this is more or less a stationary piece. There is a slight odor to the piece, but it's not overwhelming, and I suspect if I could leave the doors open for a day or so it would disappear. I highly recommend this island to anyone needing to add space. Lots of colors, configurations and looks.
As Beautiful as pictured. Drawer depth not listed in measurements.
NanaNel from Nebraska – Verified Buyer
Drawer depth was EXCESSIVELY less than the depth listed for the shelves. I went back to the description and found that only the height and width were listed. The measurement for drawer depth was missing. I was expecting more drawer space. But, I love the way it looks! Assembly is commitment and definitely not for the impatient or someone new to assembly. Shipping was fast and packaging was wonderfully protective so, plan on plenty of extra time to unpack items. Easily an all-afternoon project, especially, esp. if flying sole. Granite top and cabinet box were both extremely heavy and should be moved by two people. Granite top, which was exceptionally beautiful, will take 2 people (and an electric screwdriver) to remove from packing crate and place on top the cabinet. Plan on a minimum of 3 hours assembly AFTER unpacked. Parts will arrive boxed separately, and not necessarily the same day...1 box each for the counter top, the cabinet and another with the legs, if ordering something other than the rollers (rollers came automatically in cabinet pkg.) I purchased the Mahogany finish and expected the brass hardware, but it came with black nickel. Very easily replaced with what I liked better from a local hardware store, but it was another expense. Nice bonus--The doors are spring hinged into very small pivot holes on the top and bottom so, if I choose remove a door to have one of the shelves open the holes aren't noticeable. This was my 1st Wayfair purchase. I will definitely be back!
Love my new island
Lloye from Metamora, IL
It was a little darker wood than what is pictured...I bought the mahogany and probably should have gone with the cherry but LOVE it! Very sturdy and heavy! You will definitely need help putting it together but it wasn't too bad, all the pieces are labeled and the screws and little pieces come separated and labeled in a blister pack. Except for the wooded feet screws...I did not receive the screws for the wooden feet! They weren't included in the blister pack nor were they in the box the feet came in...and we looked through EVERYTHING! I didn't want to put the casters (wheels) on it, but those screws were included in the blister pack. Luckily my husband is extremely mechanical and had screws that would work out in his shop!! I would have been disappointed if I would have had to wait for the screws to be sent to me...especially since we would have stopped production because we wouldn't have put that granite top on only to have to turn it over when the feet screws came in.
Exactly what I was looking for
Felicia from Barnegat, NJ
I have been looking for a kitchen island cart of sorts for some time now. I have cherry cabinets and the wood on the island matches pretty well, I also like the granite. I did not have any damaged parts as some other reviews had mentioned. The only thing I will say is that I did have to air out the cabinets and drawers for a while before I put anything in them. There is an odor inside the island that does linger. Other than that, it was exactly what I expected it to be. I read a lot of reviews before purchasing and I think some people are expecting it to be the same quality of a built in island but they only way to achieve that is to have an island built in, other wise this is a great alternative. Pros: Exactly what I expected based on picture, assembly instructions clear, Nice wood finish. Cons: Odor inside cabinets and drawers, had to air it out.
Nice looking and very functional
VH from Florida – Verified Buyer
This piece fit the exact need of extra work space for cooking. The cabinetry is very pretty and matches our kitchen exactly. We used the bun feet and we can still slide the piece around when we need more space in the kitchen. There was a strange odor, similar to bug spray, which we were able to take care of by placing a box a box of baking soda inside for a week. Assembly was easy, intimidating at first but the instructions are good.
Great Island Kitchen
Erica from Arlington, VA – Verified Buyer
We recently renovated our kitchen and needed just a little more storage space and a "work island". This island did the trick! The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was the assembly. It was not terribly difficult, but certainly took multiple hands and muscles. I would definitely suggest to a friend!
Kitchen Island with Granite Top
Carol from Fairfield, CA – Verified Buyer
Very pleased with product. Arrived on time, very well packaged to prevent damage during shipping. Assembly was a bit challenging and time consuming....but....if you follow the directions step by step, it all comes together. Looks great in my kitchen. Love, love, love the cherry finish with the black granite top. It provides extra kitchen storage but the drawers and shelving are limited a little in size. I like the round furniture feet and it still moves easily on my tile kitchen floor.
Solid for the price
M from Ohio – Verified Buyer
Look, this isn't a $2,000.00 kitchen island. For the price, it is nice looking, functional, and it can fit in a compact kitchen. The negative reviews are right: 1) the back panels are flimsy thin veneers; 2) the upper drawers are made with similar flimsy veneers and cannot hold much weight; and 3) it is a pain to build. I will also add 4) some of the guide holes for the wood screws were too large (got to love pre-stripped screws). You can fix the guide holes or buy larger screws. Despite all of those things, I still like the island and would buy it again.
Denise from NJ – Verified Buyer
Great piece. Was looking for a piece to sit behind my sofa that would compliment my dining area. this worked perfectly and allows me to use it as a server when I have company. The island is very well made ad came extremely well packed. Took about 2 hours to put together, but was well worth the effort. all pieces except the back were wood and seem to be very sturdy. If you are considering this as a stand alone island I would rethink the purchase as the back of the island is three pieces of fiber board which fit into a wood frame. Otherwise the island looks like a piece of high quality furniture. You only need a few tools to put together. Pros: all wood, granite top, easy to move around, multi-functional Cons: lots of pieces to lay out and put together, back is not wood
