Crock Pots & Slow Cookers

I love cooking in clay because of the great results I get every time and how I've read about how it preserves nutrients in our foods (using less oil and water). So I thought this product had to be great: the first electronic clay cooker I've seen--now I can cook in clay and even leave the house--it's ready when I get home! I really like the pre-programming feature on this model, which is absent on the round models. My favorite thing to do is cook steel cut oats using the stew button: I can load it and program everything the night before, and it starts cooking at 5am, ready to eat when I wake up (to the wonderful smell!) at 7am. Oatmeal in a slow cooker can't be beat--until now, with clay. I also love the re-heat feature on this model: I can re-steam day-old rice and it tastes just like fresh! I also use it to re-heat soups, and even use the warm function to mull cider in the winter. I use this product just about every day, from making rice and other grains (oatmeal, quinoa, millet), to cranberry sauce and stuffing for Thanksgiving, to soups and stews. The results from clay cooking are quite noticeably better than any other cooking medium I've used. Rice (brown especially) is the best I've ever made in this pot, and at the push of a button. Also it cooks faster, even for "slow" cooking, so it saves time and energy, and you don't end up with soggy food like sometimes happens in crock pots. I couldn't be happier!
