I use a crockpot/slow cooker every week for easy meals on the days I have to work. I really like this slow cooker. I love that the lid has a rubber lining. When you place the lid on the slow cooker it doesn't bang around and it achieves a great seal. My old slow cooker would burn things on a low setting, this slow cooker actually cooks food on low like it's supposed to! I love that the insert of the slow cooker comes out, for easy washing. I really like that the lid has a lock on the top. It would make transporting the slow cooker so easy. You wouldn't have to worry about spills on the way to your destination. i'd had a previous west bend cooker like this one, only a bit smaller, for almost 30 years. this new unit is a bit larger, but functions the same way. i like the fact that i don't have to worry about a crockery pot breaking, and that one can start cooking on the stovetop, if necessary or preferred, then move the pot to the cooking base for a longer slow-cooking. with a cooker like this, i can't think why anyone would buy a traditional "crock pot". i'm glad west bend still makes a product like this."..."
