We got this mattress because of the high ratings - safety and user. Our only concern with it is that because of the squared edges, we, literally, had to smash the mattress in once we had a fitted sheet on it. There is no way our baby will get arms, legs or anything caught in between the mattress and the crib. There is also NO way that a waterproof mattress pad will also fit on it - make sure you invest in the waterproof sheet savers that sit on top of the mattress to protect the mattress in the event of unavoidable accidents!"..."  Read more

Compared to the spring mattress that I've seen at most stores this mattress fits the reccommendation for a firm mattress for your infant. In the spring mattresses that I have looked at they were not nearly as firm and you could feel the springs through the covering. Also there was no strange smells when I removed the mattress from the packaging. I've seen this as a complaint for other mattress brands. This is the 2nd time I've bought this mattress. This time for my daughter who will be here soon. I bought this mattress originally for my son and it is perfect. It's so light weight, firm and has 2 sides for when they get older (will be a bit softer). I had researched mattresses extensively and this by far is worth the money.
