Crib Mattresses

Got this for my 22 month old sons crib. I wanted a thinner mattress so he would be lower in the crib to prevent him from crawling out. I found only two reasonably priced 4" mattresses, this one and one by a company that specialized in industry mattresses and cribs for things like daycares and hospitals. Truthfully I was going to go with the other at first, figuring it might be more durable, but decided to give this a try since it was less expensive. The day we got it it was on our living room floor and I couldn't get my son off of it. He thought it was great and was giving it its first stress test by jumping all over it. Other then seeming very durable, it is firm enough to provide support and soft enough to be comfortable. Now it's in his crib and he is sleeping on it well. I did take some cardboard from the box it came in and put it on the wires in the crib that hold the mattress. Our crib is old and I was concerned the wires would push into the foam too much, but honestly it is unnecessary. My son now is lower in the crib and very comfortable and I don't worry about him climbing out. This was so worth the price! On a side note, I wanted to write a review for this because the only one I found was by someone complaining that it was an ugly mattress. Not very helpful. Yes it is just white and doesn't have pictures of bunnies or clouds like others do, but I don't care. Most safety products are lacking in "looks." This crib mattress is the safest crib mattress I have found, and it looks so nice in my baby's crib. It's easy to use. My wife and I are still waiting for our baby to arrive but the mattress [...] was quite quick. We opened the box and there was very little smell of the vinyl and we don't notice it now that we have had it out in the open for a while. The mattress is firm - not too hard and not too soft. It does have a very snug fit into the crib and this is for safety reasons (it actually sticks to the paint of the crib but didn't rip the paint off).
