Got this for my 22 month old sons crib. I wanted a thinner mattress so he would be lower in the crib to prevent him from crawling out. I found only two reasonably priced 4" mattresses, this one and one by a company that specialized in industry mattresses and cribs for things like daycares and hospitals. Truthfully I was going to go with the other at first, figuring it might be more durable, but decided to give this a try since it was less expensive. The day we got it it was on our living room floor and I couldn't get my son off of it. He thought it was great and was giving it its first stress test by jumping all over it. Other then seeming very durable, it is firm enough to provide support and soft enough to be comfortable. Now it's in his crib and he is sleeping on it well. I did take some cardboard from the box it came in and put it on the wires in the crib that hold the mattress. Our crib is old and I was concerned the wires would push into the foam too much, but honestly it is unnecessary. My son now is lower in the crib and very comfortable and I don't worry about him climbing out. This was so worth the price! On a side note, I wanted to write a review for this because the only one I found was by someone complaining that it was an ugly mattress. Not very helpful. Yes it is just white and doesn't have pictures of bunnies or clouds like others do, but I don't care. I would recommend this to a friend, especially someone wanting to get more time out of their crib by lowering your child."..."  Read more

I purchased this mattress because I wanted to minimize my baby's exposure to potentially harmful chemicals found in some mattresses and I couldn't afford a 100% organic/latex mattress (the cover of this mattress is organic and the filling is cotton and wool, but not organic as far as I know). I have only been using the mattress for a few weeks but so far am very pleased with my purchase. The mattress is very firm (it does not compress at all when my baby sleeps on it -she weighs 14lbs) and because it is not a coil mattress, it is light and easy to maneuver for sheet changes. The waterproof cover is a definite plus. The only thing I don't love about the mattress is that it gave off a strange musty odor for a few days but it seems to have stopped now. All in all, I would definitely recommend this mattress to parents with similar concerns about toxic materials but without the budget to go all organic."..."  Read more

This mattress is very comfortable - firm, but with soft layers under a vinyl top. Our son sleeps very well on the mattress, and the transition from bassinet to crib was an easy one. We like the "plush quilt laminate" and easy to clean surface - basically, we can skip the mattress pad and use only a sheet. My only problem is that the large, oval label shows up under the sheets (I think many mattresses are designed this way - why?) I wasn't sure if the mattress should be placed label side up or down - I called the company and was told to place the mattress label side up for crib, label side down for toddler/day bed. We are very happy with this purchase - it is a quality piece that we feel confident will last for our son and future children."..."  Read more

We got this mattress because of the high ratings - safety and user. Our only concern with it is that because of the squared edges, we, literally, had to smash the mattress in once we had a fitted sheet on it. There is no way our baby will get arms, legs or anything caught in between the mattress and the crib. There is also NO way that a waterproof mattress pad will also fit on it - make sure you invest in the waterproof sheet savers that sit on top of the mattress to protect the mattress in the event of unavoidable accidents!"..."  Read more
