Cradles & Bassinets

I did a lot of searching for a cradle and I am so glad that this is the one I purchased. It is beautiful! The wood is nice quality furniture wood, the carvings on the cradle are gorgeous, the cradle is sturdy, and looks just beautiful. Yes, the 1" pad is not a mattress, count on throwing the included pad away and buying a mattress. The benefit of a cradle over a bassinet is two-fold: one: it rocks, and two: it is larger, so you can keep baby in your bedroom longer.It is very roomy so a baby up to 6 months would have no problem sleeping in here comfortably. For my first baby, I used a bassinet and she outgrew it so fast that I moved her to her room crib and found myself going back and forth between her room and mine and this time I thought I just needed a cradle size during her infancy stage. Practical, adorable, sturdy, portable, cozy, bed. Pros: Young baby can sleep and play comfortably in this basket...no strapping into a carrier or swing. Easy for diaper changes, too. Very reasonable price. I like that there is no hood to get in the way when caring for baby. Easy to have young baby safe, comfortable, and near you in house, outside, visiting. Easy to put together. Liner and sheet machine wash, tumble dry nicely. Cons: My basket had a straw odor that eventually disappeared. To me, the liner and sheet looked a bit dingy, even after washing, but once I started using it I didn't even notice it anymore. Some of the ribbon ties came loose from the liner, but just a few stitches easily fixed them. The manufacturer should make sure the ties are sewed on securely. We wanted a modern crib that wouldn't take too much space in a small room. This set is adorable. I put the bassinet together & it was pretty easy. The bassinet rolls very easily & fits through the door frame. The construction seems good. I'd like to point out that the Stokke Crib is not made in Scandinavia but in Romania.
