Cradles & Bassinets

I did a lot of searching for a cradle and I am so glad that this is the one I purchased. It is beautiful! The wood is nice quality furniture wood, the carvings on the cradle are gorgeous, the cradle is sturdy, and looks just beautiful. Yes, the 1" pad is not a mattress, count on throwing the included pad away and buying a mattress. The benefit of a cradle over a bassinet is two-fold: one: it rocks, and two: it is larger, so you can keep baby in your bedroom longer.It is very roomy so a baby up to 6 months would have no problem sleeping in here comfortably. For my first baby, I used a bassinet and she outgrew it so fast that I moved her to her room crib and found myself going back and forth between her room and mine and this time I thought I just needed a cradle size during her infancy stage. Very attractive piece of furniture. There is plenty of room for even a big baby. The mattress pad is entirely too thin. We had to buy another thicker pad and put it on top of it.
