I selected to buy the Almus 1000 thread count 100% cotton sheet set by Three Posts Teen despite the many reviews that said that the sheet set was less than desired and not soft at all along with other negative remarks! I did this first off because of the tremendous sale tag it was sporting, which was like $70.00 less than its original cost - It's been a few since I bought these so if my math is off by a dollar or two, please, forgive me. Next, I wanted to see for myself. I mean for real a 1000 thread count 100% cotton sheet set - that is NOT soft! Really? I am still saying "really?"! Mine are soft, mine are not thin nor do they sound like paper when moved upon.. nope, all of these are untrue statements! This sheet set was true to size -full for full- that's my bed size, that's what I ordered and that's what I got and the fitted sheet's pockets were as deep as WF said they would be, no problems there-- no slipping off the corners for me. I was hesitant because of the borders. I generally just like plain borders. The sheets are fantastic. They are smooth, fantastic quality. If I could, I’d rate as a 3.7. Being a 400 thread count, they aren’t as soft and smooth as you’d find in the luxurious 700 thread count realm. But what I really like is the quality build that you can feel from the sheer weight of each piece. They are very substantial and the fitted sheet has very strong elastic bands (see pic). I haven’t had them long enough to test the “no pill” promise on the package, but I’m hopeful! One last thing, they arrived with a strong chemical odor that definitely had to be washed before you slept on them, and they stay pretty wrinkled (see pic), almost like a linen material. These pillowcases in light blue are silky smooth however, I believe it was stated in the ad that they were wrinkle free. Even though I followed the washing instructions and removed them promptly from both the washer and the dryer, they’re still quite wrinkled and I don’t have the time to iron them. I have not used these sheets yet. They seem nice but they are not what I ordered. The label calls them combed cotton, not Egyptian-quality cotton sateen. They definitely do not have that feel I am used to with Egyptian cotton, but I will keep them. I ordered two different sets of sheets and neither are the ones advertised.
