The E.E. Boynton House Collection
In 1907, Frank Lloyd Wright designed and built the E. E. Boynton House in Rochester, New York at a cost of $55,000. Wright drew plans for the compound curve of the Boynton dining chair?s back ? a horizontal curve to cradle the shoulders and a vertical curve to support the lower back ? but because of limitations in tools and technology at that time the chairs built for the Boynton house had flat back panels.
