We love these pans. We had a non stick Calphon that we replaced with the stainless steel KitchenAid set. I was concerned with the wear on the non stick set and how much was possibly ending up in food. Health issues are a concern for me. My husband was very hesitant that food would stick when I explained the preheating of the pans he got it! He likes the seal on the lids. I absolutley love this pot set. It is easy to clean, nothing sticks and it heats quite quickly. I wondered how long it would take to boil water as you shouldn't use these pots above medium heat. It was just as quick, if not quicker than the stainless steel set I replaced this set with.I have to mention as well that anybody that has sensitive skin or has used cortizone on their hands for lengthy periods of time, such as myself, this set is a must have!! My other set was stainless steel and I was always struggling to hang on to the pot handles because they would always slip out of my hands or I would forget to use my better hand and burn my fingers touching the lid handle. I am not easy on my pots and pans. I use them with little regard or care. This set is as well coated as the ten year old first set, two pieces of which lasted only those ten years. The rest of that set is still near perfect. The handles of this set are not as well constructed for hanging but feel better in the hand. The walls of the pots are thinner by a fraction which I don't find a plus but many might. I find the lid handles deeper which again is not a plus for me but allows extra space for oven mits and the like. I've never found the lids so warm as to need that extra space. The lids fit well but loosely enough that a rolling boil will vent on its own. I really loved my old set and wished to duplicate it. I am getting used to the changes with this new set and think I will come to love it as much. The three quart fryer is particularly nice for size. I wish there were lids that fit the saute pans if for no other reason than keeping the contents warm while the rest of a meal come together. I only gave this four stars rather than five simply because I haven't had it that long. So I can't comment as to durability. But so far I'm impressed. The all-clad bottoms distribute heat well, quickly and evenly. They heat up much faster than my old pots. There has been a little color change on the outside, so they aren't as shiny as they were when new. And the handles do get warm, especially near the pot, so use caution. The glass lids are a nice feature, but are not oven safe. I was dismayed to read that in the manual, since that isn't specified on the site. I called the company and was told it is the gaskets between the lid and the handle that might melt or burn in the oven. I told them I thought that if they were going to offer a "dutch oven" as part of the set, it should have an oven-proof lid. Meanwhile, I'm using it with a different lid from an old set when I use it in the oven. I really liked that this set included stainless steel pots, and non-stick pans. I didn't want stainless pans and didn't want non-stick pots. So far the non-stick surfaces are holding up well after a month of use. I just got these for Christmas."..."  Read more
