I was looking for a stainless steel set because I like stainless steel so much better than just aluminum ones. I love that they are made of heavy 18/10 polished stainless steel because they are beautiful in my kitchen and seem very durable. I don't, however; know how long the polished look of the stainless is going to last. These pots and skillets have a thick aluminum disk base that is great for quick, even heat distribution. This thick aluminum disk base is completely encapsulated by stainless steel which helps them resist corrosion and discoloring making clean up easier. The pans' rims are rolled for strength and make it possible to pour without dripping.I have to confess though that I love my cast iron skillets better than these nonstick skillets. I don't like nonstick coatings because they usually end up scratching easily (unless used with proper utensils) and sometimes flake off into the food I cook. I love cast iron and if seasoned properly it is very easy to clean. Also, I am sometimes anemic (have low iron) especially while pregnant and cooking with cast iron helps my anemia. My mother, however; is post menopausal and too much iron could cause her problems she doesn't need or want so I like having a few nonstick pieces of cookware around for when she visits. This set has 4 pots that all have glass lids. These lids fit tightly and help keep moisture and nutrients inside. I can also see into the pot at everything cooking inside it which makes it easier to know when the contents start boiling or simmering without lifting the lid and letting the nutrients and moisture escape. The handles have a retro look to them because they are made of phenolic (Bakelite) and are oven-safe up to 350 degrees F."..."  Read more

This is an excellent beginner's set of stainless steel cookware. I purchased it as a gift. I have a set and it has stayed nice and shiny for me, but that is with the help of a quick polish of Steel Glo each time I use it. I have an extremely expensive set of stainless steel, which I love, but often use this auxilliary set because the handles don't care about my gas burners. The expensive set has bakelite handles and they do not perform well if the burner is set too high, as they will burn and crack in the flame. The bakelite also doesn't perform well in the dishwasher as it discolors. This Wearever set loves the dishwasher. No complaints about it and my set has been to Alaska and back in a motorhome, and is now used in my home kitchen. My set is nearly two years old and still looks pristine. Love the pour spouts and the strain and drain lids."..."  Read more

Bought this cookware several months ago & have used it several times. It's light, cooks evenly & cleans up well. I got it because my prior set was too heavy, had no steam vents & I don't cook like I used to. If you're looking for something inexpensive & lightweight, then this is for you. However, I don't know if it's going to last many years, like a heavier, more expensive set would. For efficiency it works, the steam vents keep liquids from boil-over & the light blue glass lids are unique & beautiful."..."  Read more

We love these pans. We had a non stick Calphon that we replaced with the stainless steel KitchenAid set. I was concerned with the wear on the non stick set and how much was possibly ending up in food. Health issues are a concern for me. My husband was very hesitant that food would stick when I explained the preheating of the pans he got it! He likes the seal on the lids. Overall we really are very happy we made the purchase."..."  Read more
