Adequate, but not great
Martha from Pepin, WI
My husband and I are organic farmers and do a lot of canning. We bought this set because we wanted a stainless steel funnel and hoped that if we payed a little more money, we would get higher quality. Apparently, we did not pay enough. The most important thing to know is that the neck of the funnel is tapered so that it does not actually fit down inside a narrow-mouthed canning jar. It works, but balances precariously. The jar lifter's grabbers are curved so that it does not stand upright when you set it down. A minor inconvenience, but it does slow the process down. The lid lifter is pretty short and it's magnet is weak, but it works. The kitchen tongs work fine (hard to mess them up) and we haven't used the jar wrench because it has nothing to do with canning. In all, it was pretty disappointing, but it gets the job done.
Almost practical, but not quite

My main complaint with this set is that the funnel mouth is slightly too wide to fit down in a narrow mouth canning jar, so it just perches instead. Very dumb. The magnet is short and wimpy, the tongs and jar wrench pretty useless for canning, and the jar lifter doesn't stand up on its rubber lifter end, which makes it a little inconvenient to use. So, everything is usable, but none of it is well designed.
