Coffee Tables

I own quite a few pieces of Chatham furniture - it started with a set of occasional tables (including this coffee table) and expanded to include a glass-doored bookcase and an entire bedroom suite. I got all my pieces in natural cherry. Everything I've ever gotten from Chatham has been TOP quality - solid wood with no veneers, dovetailed drawers, wood drawer glides, etc. Their furniture is understated in terms of design - nice, clean lines - which I love, but still stunningly beautiful and we get many compliments on it. The natural cherry started out light but darkened in no time, and after 4 years, it has acquired a really rich and warm reddish to medium brown patina. Just lovely, and indicative of having the "real thing" - no stain can match the beauty of naturally aged cherry. If you compare prices, you'll find that Chatham is quite fairly priced. We love this table. The kids enjoy changing the display! It's a great size and shape, and the stain is beautiful. I was nervous buying sight-unseen, but the reviews were positive and it looked exactly like what we wanted. It seems very sturdy and should last a long time, even with the kids making constant decorating changes! The edges are quite sharp, so it might not appropriate if you have very young children. The drawers aren't smooth-opening, but that's understandable because they're the full length of the table. It's a GREAT table, and a practical conversation piece."..."  Read more
