I bought the lift top coffee table for every day use. You may notice I referenced several times how it scratches. I was using a cardboard paper coaster and slid it across the table. There was a small amount of dust on the table. I watched the scratches appear as I slid the coaster. I was mad. What kind of finish is on this table? I went out and had two pieces of custom glass cut to put on top of the table. The glass is split down the center so when you raise the half of the table that lifts up, it will have glass on it. The table is beautiful in design but is massive. Make sure you lay out a pattern of the table in the space you want to use it. We were surprised when we set it up. I bought this coffee table after looking at dozens and dozens in stores and also online. Both my husband and I decided we liked this coffee table the best. Size wise it is perfect for my living room not too big like some tabes are. It is not a chest but it has a very deep drawer which is good to keep the remote controls and magazines etc.. I would have given it five stars except the covering on the table and drawer the detailed map, is a paper laminate. I have a tiny chip off the drawer as you pull out the drawer which I can cover with a little brown acrylic paint. For the cost of the coffee table I would have thought it would have been made with a material that wouldn't easily chip off. So we will have to be careful with it. It is definately a beautiful piece of furniture and I have had a lot of good comments from friends how beautiful the coffee table is."..."  Read more

I purchased this table to complete my family room which is 20' x 20'. I wanted a large surface to lay snacks out on, play board games on, etc. This passage table is sturdy and beautiful! It even has 2 very roomy drawers--one hidden on each of the longer sides. The wood grain and warm brown color are gorgeous, and the rosette detail elevates this table from commonplace to extraordinary. However, upon delivery yesterday, I realized the height made it look absolutely massive compared to my "normal" size sofa, loveseat and large custom recliners. The passage table was almost at the same height as my sofa end tables. So, I guess what I really wanted was a large surface, but at cocktail table height (~18"). My husband and I took the bun feet and the "H-shaped" wooden brace off, took out the long metal screws that hold the lower parts in place and now have the perfect addition to out family room. The table legs remain gorgeously-detailed even at the shorter height. Our apologies to the designers at Stanley Furniture."..."  Read more

I bought this coffee table along with the matching end table and they are very nice. Easy to assemble, they seem quite resistant and very sturdy. The coffee table is very usefull and has a full-length drawer on one side and a hiding compartment for remote controls on the other side.
