Hamilton Beach The Scoop Two-Way Brewer Coffeemaker Hamilton Beach
Hamilton Beach The Scoop Two-Way Brewer Coffeemaker

I am not a "Single Cup" coffee drinker, so ordering a Keurig was out of the question. I drink my coffee a pot at a time, usually. I know...it's a problem I'm working on. Anyway, as I researched coffee makers, this Hamilton Beach model was the highest rated and I thought it deserved a look. I've had all kinds of coffee makers in the past, from the single cup variety to the "Order the coffee and get a coffee maker FREE" variety, to other quality machines with a grinder and coffee bean holder already attached. The Scoop Two-Way Brewer is the best I've had so far. I can control whether I want to brew one cup or twelve. I can program it to brew at whatever time I want. There's very little clean-up (rinse out the carafe or cup and replace the filter and you're done) compared to that high-tech grinder model. I have even remarked to people that I have yet to spill a single drop. When pouring water into the brew chamber, in the past, I've always had water spill down the side of the pot and onto the counter or splash off the rim...it can be very messy. Whoever designed the pour spout here deserves some kind of medal! I have used the single serving travel cup feature--once--just to try it out. It seems the folks at HB have thought of everything. The design of the travel cup allows you to leave the lid on while you brew (you will have to remove it to add cream or sugar, if that's your style). There's a little drip pan underneath which doubles as a booster seat to bring smaller mugs closer to the spout or you can remove it if there's a taller mug you wish to use. Finally, the look of the thing--the stainless steel facing with that cobalt blue light...as my dad pointed out, this looks like a "man's machine". I don't know if that's the case, but it's definitely sleek. When I see that blue light glowing in my darkened kitchen, I know I'm going to be starting my morning off right. Great job, Hamilton Beach!"..." Read more

I like that this coffee maker keeps the coffee hot and has an automatic turn off switch, which I can set. I set it for 3 hourse on weekends and in this time the coffee stays hot but does not get scortched. I switched from a thermal pot Bunn and have found the advantages of this style are that I don't have coffee spilling when pouring and the coffee is still hot when I come back an hour later. Although this coffee maker comes with a permanent filter I use a paper filter inside of it so I don't get small particles in the coffee."..." Read more

I am the only coffee drinker in our home, and this is hands down, my favorite coffee maker.A few years ago, my daughter needed a coffeemaker so since I liked my B & D, I gave her my old one. I thought I could easily get another but that was not the case! When I went back a week later to the store where I originally bought my B & D, I soon regretted giving mine away because they no longer sold it!My husband bought me several other brands, even more expensive coffeemakers with all the bells and whistles but I was not happy with any of them. I finally did a search and found this at Wayfair & ordered it right away. I will also be getting one for work and one as a back up in case they discontinue this model.[...]"..." Read more

I looked at a wide range of one- and two-cup brewers and finds this one fits my needs the best. No expensive 'pods' or 'k-cups' to try and find to buy and no complicated steps to brew. Pour in the water, scoop in the coffee with the included measure, set the cup or cups in place, and turn it on. There's only two controls. A selector on the top (one or two cup brew) and the power switch. One of the important things about this coffee brewer is you don't get grounds in your cup. Since each cup has a separate filter basket, you can brew two different flavors of coffee at the same time, or a cup of coffee and a cup of tea. Good coffee, too"..." Read more
