Perched on a ledge in Cohasset, Massachusetts, and surrounded by ocean on three sides, this home appears to float on the horizon. A glance at the exterior suggests a classic Cape Cod style (wide, white trim and wood-shake siding), but step through the door, and the interior's bold color and furnishings prove that the vibe is anything but predictable. 

Though the property's ocean views are a jumping-off point for the palette (note shades of rich blue and sea-glass green), ample doses of orange and purple bring the energy. When combined with the unique shapes of the furniture, the playfulness adds sinuousness to the  boxlike rooms. 

Hints of the home's original bones can still be seen, thanks to the owners' decision to expose previously-hidden ceiling beams. Iconic New England elements, such as the bedroom's wood-clad ceiling, were added 
to complete the look.
