Chef's Choice Premium Electric Food Slicer
Ray from Alabama
I like the quality of this product and it is exactly what I expected. It is durable and is exactly as described on the web.

I like the slicer. My only issues is that the piece that pushes or holds onto your food is plastic and whatever plastic teeth it has are just useless. I have to use some muscle and push into the slicer for my food to get cut.

We bought an inferior brand before this and I took 4 slices off of a ham and it died. I did a whole pork roast recently and the Chef's Choice worked flawlessly. Spend the extra money on the straight blade - does a much job than the serrated on meats. I highly recommend this product.
Does the job

I've actually only used it once to slice frozen meat for stir fry. Amazingly works well! The only downside is that its not very big so don't buy too big of a block of meat. But quality seems good..doesn't shake or rock back and forth while slicing. So far so good. Good buyReview this product in 20 words or more...

Don't know why I waited so long to purchase an electric food slicer. This makes easy work of slicing tri tip or brisket.

easy to use, and to clean.....only reason it got 4 stars instead of 5 is because I had to buy the smooth blade seperately. I would have gladly paid more to get both blades with the original purchase.

I used the food slicer to slice a 10 pound top sirloin roast, cut it in half and it worked without a hitch. I would recommend the Chefs Choice food slicer to anyone. It had no problems cutting the meat very thin, as I had wanted it to be and clean-up was very easy. I couldnt be more pleased with this purchase.
Always enthralled by knife sharpening, Friel included in his list the invention of a truly effective electric knife sharpener that would work on a wide variety of knives, particularly, fine quality gourmet knives. He rescued a 20-year-old set of Gerber knives from a closet. They were a present from his wife June, and to his great frustration, he had never been able to put a satisfactory edge on them.
With fierce determination and a personal deadline of three years to show himself adequate progress on the project, Friel set to work in a basement laboratory and then sought the assistance of other professionals. "They were the nucleus of the EdgeCraft team," recalls Friel. He created thirteen prototypes before he came up with one that satisfied him. Soon after its introduction, the Chef's Choice Diamond Hone Sharpener earned the acclaim of food experts and chefs worldwide, including Pierre Franey, Jacques Pépin and the late Craig Claiborne.
Friel compares the day he left DuPont to follow his second career to the day he walked away from Johns Hopkins University after earning a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering."Unlike the day I left Johns Hopkins, when I left DuPont I could proceed with the knowledge and confidence gained from some 40 years of hands-on experience," Friel recalls. "I saw a need and I had the confidence that I could deliver."
