easy to use, and to clean.....only reason it got 4 stars instead of 5 is because I had to buy the smooth blade seperately. I would have gladly paid more to get both blades with the original purchase.

I bought this slicer for my husband, who loves to cook, this Christmas and he LOVES it! Easy to use..easy to clean! He likes the idea of the tray that catches the meat as its sliced in a uniform slice. The old slicer we had took nearly an hour to clean (which I did ) and.......he (yes.....he!) cleaned in about 5 mins.! The slices are neat and clean....we used it with a pork roast tonight and it was perfect! We do more meat than bread, so Im anxious to try other meats as well. If anyone is wondering how good this is....all I can say is my hubby is very pleased and looking forward to utilizing this tool with future creations! Thanks...this is a great product!

I used the food slicer to slice a 10 pound top sirloin roast, cut it in half and it worked without a hitch. I would recommend the Chefs Choice food slicer to anyone. It had no problems cutting the meat very thin, as I had wanted it to be and clean-up was very easy. I couldnt be more pleased with this purchase.

I only used this once so I don't have much experience with it. In fact, this is my first food slicer. I read many reviews and checked out a few videos and decided this one was the best of all the others I've looked at. This one is built very well and it is fairly easy to clean. It should be supplied with the non-serrated blade. This is the reason for the 4 stars. [...] buying from here was a little cheaper than buying from a Canadian retailer.

My primary purpose for this unit was to cut homemade bread created in a bread maker. My research reflected that not all slicers do this well. The machine will cut evenly and without shredding. There is a bit of an art to penetrating the crust, but once you get the feel for that, it goes smoothly. A word of caution. The blade is much sharper than you might think. I am now missing a third of one fingernail from casual contact. DO NOT be tempted to remove any loose items from around the blade with your fingers. Even when the blade is off. Always pick it up from the bottom. Be very, very cautious when you remove the blade for cleaning.

We bake our own home made bread, and I was looking around for a decent quality electric knife for slicing it. In my online searching I came across a video demonstration of the Chef's Choice 610 model food slicer. Well, now you know what 'Serendipity' means, - we looked for a bread slicer, and found the best all round, (any) food slicer I have ever used. I was a little skeptical about its ability to do a good slicing job on bread, because of its varying textures, - I needn't have worried, - this machine will do it all; from Ham, Roasts, pork, beef, corned beef, bread, - you name it! Another added 2 bonuses, Excellent safety lock to guard the blade when not in use, and quick and easy dismantling for cleaning. Yes, Like I said, 'Versatility' is the keyword! It really lives up to its reputation and I would recommend it to anyone.

The slicer is o.k. but doesn't work very well for cutting thin slices from harder meat like prociuto.
