So far like the performance, but the lid has started to be difficult to get off when filling.

A Must Have in the Kitchen! from Santa Cruz, CA on 11/14/2010 – Verified Buyer
This kettle (as well as our previous, Russell Hobbs kettle) get constant use in our kitchen as we consume a LOT of tea and coffee. We like the efficiency of a kettle. Yes, it consumes a lot of energy when on, but for a very short amount of time so it's ultimately more energy efficient than using the range. It's also wonderfully convenient as it doesn't take up space on the range and can be brought to any flat surface to serve.

The only negative is that it makes a tremendous amount of noise as the water nears a boil, but this is not a problem just an occasional annoyance.

I highly recommend it. My only advice: if you have a large family get a larger capacity kettle as this one is good for only 2-3 large mugs.

Excellent and Vital part of my kitchen! from Los Angeles on 08/22/2008 – Verified Buyer
I got rid of my microwave years ago for health and environment considerations. This tea kettle
is a mainstay in my kitchen. I used one vigorously multiple times a day for eight years.
During my kitchen remodel it was essential in my makeshift kitchen in the garden. Eventually, when the handle got loose (pot still works great)
I bought a new kettle immediately.

Friends notice it when I use it and want one too.
I love this product. And it's a great gift.

Exactly what I was looking for! from Long Island, NY on 03/29/2008 – Verified Buyer
I fully recommend this product. We have just returned from Ireland and everyone there uses an electric kettle. This is what prompted me to go shopping for my own. I am thrilled with this kettle, both the look and the function are exactly what I was looking for!!!
