I received this as a free promotional item, but I'm glad I did. I had wanted to try a microplane grater/zester for a while, and this is really great. I've mostly used it to grate parmesan cheese, which it does very well. The cheese is so fine, silky and light, and it just looks pretty! The cheese (mostly) gathers in the little "track" on the backside, and you can just push it out onto your food...though it did take me a little practice to get it right, and I did still spill all over the counter. Practice makes perfect though - I'll just have to find more things to grate! It's easier to clean than my box grater, but it's still a little tough to clean by hand. I think it's dishwasher safe though, so if I had a dishwasher, cleaning would be a snap. It's not AWFUL to clean though, and that definitely doesn't stop me from using it! I don't have much experience with other graters/zesters, so I can't really compare, but this one seems to do the trick!"..."  Read more

This is one of the only cheese graters I've seen that has an entire, large plate dedicated to one size grain. Most are small or have multiple size grains on one plate. Grater is very comfortable. The rubberized feet rest on the counter without slipping while the handle rests comfortably in your hand. Very fast thanks to its size and stability and comfort.
