Weighing in at 50lb the grill is well constructed from quality materials. Following the detailed instructions makes construction easy, putting the grill together took a little over an hour. Before first use the grill needs to be seasoned with a low fire for a couple of hours so make sure you allow for this before cooking your first meal. Using the grill is a breeze, there are three ways of cooking. Grilling - Cooking food over direct heat BBQing - Indirect heat at a moderate temperature with the lid closed. Slow Smoking - Using the side fire box and a low temperature. Temperature control when BBQing or slow smoking is easy thanks to a large damper in the side box and an adjustable cover on the smoke stack. The grill plates where you put the food are coated to make cleaning easier and the main area one is split in two to make it easier to handle. It is very hard to find any fault with the grill the only slight issue is getting the main cooking area lid adjusted properly but I is not a major issue.
Does the job

I bought this for hubby to expand his outdoor cooking options. It was a two person job, and at least an hour to assemble. It is lightweight and easy to roll-around. For the money, I'm happy with it, but thought it might be larger and heavier (substantial). It does the job. We used a universal fit cover on it and keep it outdoors. I would have liked to find a better fit cover for it, but this model didn't offer one. The first time the smoker box was used, some of the paint flaked off the bottom of the smoker box from the heat, but can be touched up with a heat resistant spray paint. I would recommend this for someone on a budget, whose expectations are that it does the job, and care less about the size and weight of the grill.
Great little grill!

My husband really wanted a charcoal grill/smoker but we don't have a ton of patio space, so I bought this as a birthday surprise. Took a little effort to assemble, but it was totally worth it. It's very sturdy & well-designed. There's enough space to grill dinner for 8 people, but it's compact enough to fit in a small corner of our patio. Since it's small enough that it doesn't require a ton of charcoal, it's easy to fire up & make a quick weeknight dinner. The small side smoker box makes it really versatile -- you can use it to infuse smoked flavor from wood chips, as added grill space when you have company, or as a really easy way to grill something small quickly. Can't beat the value for the money.
They dont make them like they used to

I'm replacing my old style American Gourmet which I purchased around 2004 for $100. I still have it's rusty firebox which is probably still usable, the smoker box bottom rusted out a couple years ago. I worked that smoker hard and neglected it, painted a couple of rust spots and rarely covered it. This is not the same smoker. The design is fine, slightly different than the old style, but the metal is much thinner. The construction is different, the old unit was two solid pieces, the smoker and the fire box, both with hinged lids. This new unit is mutiple pieces and when put together leave gaps for air and smoke to move through. The old unit was more solid and tighter. I think this smoker will need more TLC to last as long as my old smoker. My first time using it after a slow fire for 30 minutes I overfired the firebox, which got my main chamber to 500 degrees, it's rated to 650 degrees. This took off some of the paint on the top of the fire box. I miss my old CharBroil.

Purchased this as a gift for my Boyfriend, he worked with it a few times without any food in the smoker to make sure he knew how to manage the temperature. Last night he made his first meal, chicken thighs...omg delicious! Nice, easy, cheap, perfect for the beginner smoker. No mods needed. And he's an engineer, so, even if they weren't needed, he'd try to figure out how to improve it, but, not needed with this smoker. Very happy!

This was my husbands birthday gift. I was kinda surprised at how small it was but most reviews said this is a great starter grill and it is. My husband was really happy with it and he's used it twice the first weekend he got it. It was pretty simple to put together. The only thing we had an issue with was the logo plate. There was no way to attach it so there are 2 tiny holes where it should go on the top barrel. Pros: Easy to assemble Cons: Small, logo plate did not come with anything to attach it.
great product and the perfect size!

I was very pleased when my order finally arrived. I wasn't told at the time that it was on back order as I kept getting updates that it would be delivered on the 19th of Dec. then the 23rd of December and then I finally received it on the 26th of December so I didn't get it in time for Christmas as I had hoped. Miscommunication between departments I was told. This was the first time I have ever had any ordering problems with Wayfair so it was surprising to me. Once I received my order it was just as I had hoped it would be. I will order again just not during the holidays.

This smoker is a great little smoker even for large amounts. I use it as a smoker and also as an old fashion charcoal grill. It beats a gas grill for flavor any day. I use it for meats, seafood, veggies and I even smoked sea salt, cheeses, and hard boiled eggs in it. The eggs are unbelievable good. A GREAT smoker for a GREAT price!!!!!
Wayfair is a fantastic company to deal with

Am giving only 4 stars because it was a Christmas gift for our son-in-law who hasn't had a chance to use it yet. However I would give Wayfair 5 stars because the 1st one we ordered was damaged in delivery. I called Wayfair thinking I would probably get the run around about it being Fed X's problem not there's. I was VERY pleasantly surprised when I received a very sincere apology & they arranged to have another one sent out the next day at no charge to us.
