I bought this set along with a Davinci crib in white. The only set back is that the whites don't quite match and South Shore doesn't make cribs.
The compact changing table is solid - very sturdy. We thought we would use wood glue as we went along to add to the sturdiness, however, there are so many safety adds (like plastic wood dowels and additional brackets) to the piece that we didn't have to use the glue. After the table was completed built, I did notice that there is some space between the drawer at the top and the frame of the table. Could have been our fault, but we did follow the directions exactly - and the holes for everything are predrilled.
Another concern was that the drawer glides are plastic on plastic, while the cabinets are attached with metal hinges. Seemed odd that the glides would be plastic - but the drawer moves in and out with ease!!
The top changing pad brace fits a standard changing pad very snuggly - no room for extra diapers, lotions, etc. on top of the table. But that's to be expected with a compact changing table. With the drawer and two cabinets (that each have a moveable shelf), you don't really need the extra table top space because everything is at your fingertips anyway - shows less clutter this way too.
All and all this was a great buy for the cost - solid piece of furniture and the instructions (although many steps) are very clear to follow. Also comes with extra screws, etc. in case you brake or strip one."..." Read more
