After trying to put it together is when I noticed that the shelves and end panels were of poor quality. Didn't get all the screws that belonged to it and the box and contents had so much oil on them it left a oil mark on my carpet. Wished my husband didn't throww out the boxes it came in, I would be returning it. Was this helpful? Yes / No

One reason I did not give it 5 stars is it took my fiance' several hours to put it together. He pleaded that I never buy any products from this manufacturer again. The other reason is the piece is not finished. We will need treat the wood to help with possible stains. My 6 year old spilled fruit punch on it and I nearly had a heart attack. I was able to get most of it up before staining but there are a few spots that dripped inside that I missed that are now pink. :( I would only recommend this product if you are very handy to put it together and if you plan to finish it to make it spill proof. So, I had to assemble it completely (and the instructions werent that great). Took a while. I felt the assembly/instructions from [...] was designed much more user-friendly & intuitive than that of this product's. Once put together and set up in kitchen, this island seems to be useful. mom 2 boys from scarsdale, ny	4.0 12/27/2010 Very nice but room for improvement Love the size and the quality is good except the inside shelving...the shelves are a little "flimsy" but worse, the pins given were not strong enough to hold the shelving once items were put on the shelves. My husband had to go to the hardware store and get stonger hardware and reinforced both shelves. Too bad, the island is a great size and very sturdy but it seems they "cheaped" out when it came to the iside. All in all, we are very happy with the product.
