Nice product Now that we have it put together, the kitchen island looks very nice and is very useful. However it was hard to put together. The top and the front (cupboard doors and drawer front) are solid wood, but the sides and back are particle board with a wood veneer--an attractive veneer. You can't tell from looking at it (after it is put together) that the sides and back are not solid wood. |

Nice Piece Not too hard to put together, but one door is alot darker than others. Guess thats what happens with an all natural piece. Will be staining it, so well see how that goes. |

Perfect for our space Product Review The quality & craftsmanship were better than expected! The wood is beautiful to look at & the size, (whether the top is up or down) is just what we were looking for. The storage capacity really made a difference to my over-crowded cupboards! The cons...it took two of us 4 hrs to put it together. The variety of screws were inefficently identified/labelled. Some of the connections were tricky to manage. We love the product anyway! Service Review Our delivery time was under the estimated time given. |

American Made nice quality Love this product but if you have never put anything together you might need help. The night before you start sort your screws by size. Notice that there are two sizes of 5/8 screws. In hind sight I wish that we had left the bottom pins on each door longer than recommended and the top pins shorter than recommended. The bottom of the door scrapes when you close it but there is plenty of play to lift the door. I plan on cutting a plastic washer and slipping it around the pin to use as a spacer to lift the door just a bit, which would not be needed if we had not put the bottom pin in as deep. You need to buy the beeswax ahead of time so you can seal it before you use it. I am using it to store two crockpots, waffle iron, electric frying pan and a couple pitchers. More room than I thought. |

Excellent quality - Made in America This is the second Catskill Craftsmen kitchen cart/island that we have purchased. Like the first one, the materials and construction are superb, with quality American hardwoods. Our decor is somewhat modern, so we dressed it up with $20 worth of drawer pulls from [...]. Rather than employ the knife rack and "stock" maneuvering handle, we mounted some stainless bars/pulls that matched the cabinet pulls/handles we purchased. It looks excellent - much better than other units that are two or three times as expensive. Lastly, about the leaf - It is VERY solid and will clearly stand up to aggressive use (i.e. kneading bread, extra room for heavy mixers, etc.) All-in-all, an excellent value and a super high quality piece of utility furniture that looks great and will last a lifetime. |

Lovely island, but needs a little work This is a great island for our kitchen, and a good size. The wood is unfinished though, and we definitely need to follow the care directions to sand, oil, apply beeswax, etc. The knife holder is not terribly practical -- without a magnetic plate on the inside the knives fall over, and are easily knocked off the island, so we don't use that. We did have to purchase some sturdier hardware when putting it together (drawer slides, etc.). All in all though we love our new island! |

seems a quality product Took about 4 hours to put together. Not difficult but time consuming. Doors stick a little, needed to be sanded a bit. Also, casters do not lock well. Will need to replace them with more heavy duty ones to get it to lock properly. Shelving could be a bit more sturdy. Like the looks of it though. Fits in my kitchen nicely. |

just what i was looking for... Perfect in our small kitchen for extra storage and counter space...the drop leaf is a huge help when working on projects with the children. The cabinet provides a ton of storage and is so practical not to mention well made. Directions were easy to follow and unit is high quality. |
