Catskill Craftsmen is located in Stamford, New York, a small rural village nestled in the northern sections of the Catskill Mountains, at the headwaters of both the Schoharie and Delaware rivers.
Catskill Craftsmen began operations in 1948, and has developed over the years, becoming the nation's leading manufacturer of RTA (ready to assemble) hardwood kitchen islands, carts, and work-centers. The company is privately held, and takes great pride in its products and services.
Sixty dedicated employees work hard to insure that our products are delivered rapidly and meet your satisfaction. Catskill's manufactured items are made from naturally self-sustaining, non-endangered North American hardwoods, primarily birch and hard rock maple. Lumber is purchased from area sawmills, then dried, manufactured, and packaged on site. All sawdust, shavings and waste materials generated during the manufacturing process is converted into wood pellet fuel, and used to heat homes. Catskill is proud to say, "our operations generate no wood waste".
Catskill is also a leading manufacturer of exclusive, private label kitchen workcenters for the trade. Their products are described as "high quality at fair prices".

Just what I needed.

I knew when we bought our house the kitchen was just a bit too small. This little island on wheels is great. I keep storage bags in the drawer; hot pads & trivets in one basket; kitchen towels in another basket; and small kitchen items in the bottom. When doing a lot of cooking, or entertaining, I can pull the cart away from the wall, pull up the drop leaf, and have the perfect cart for appetizers. We've had it now for over 2 years and it still looks just as good as when we first purchased it. Great addition for your kitchen!

It's beautiful -- just as described. Loved the wood. It takes a bit of time to put together, but it is well-made and instructions are very thorough. Note in box indicates company contact information. If any parts are defective or missing, they will ship replacements to you at no charge. This is a well-manufactured cart with nice joints. Will last a long time.
Good not Great
Elizabeth Rakes from Lexington, SC – Verified Buyer
The cart is the perfect size for my kitchen and gives me the extra space that I was looking for. However, I have had to sand the top as it was very rough when delivered. I thought that would cure the problem but it did not. In a few days it was rough again. No it did not "wet" the top. I simply wiped it with a damp cloth. I put nothing but dry things on the top (pot, pans, bowls, etc.) My on line research indicates that to cure this problem the top will have to be sealed with a mixture of mineral oil and bees wax. I got value for my dollar. The cart is all wood and very sturdy. I guess if a wanted perfect could have paid hundreds of dollars more.
Easy to Assemble

My mother loved this gift to keep her papers organized in her kitchen!!! It was a breeze to assemble and strong and sturdy!
A lot of work
Julie from C.
My ex boyfriend had this same cart so I knew it was nice, but what I didn't know was how much work it was to assemble. I have put many pieces of furniture together, but this one ranked pretty high in level of difficulty and time spent. So just be prepared to work hard for the payoff... A nice, compact, good-looking kitchen island.
Create much needed workspace quickly and elegantly
Joyce A. from Glenside, PA – Verified Buyer
We really like this product. It's a quick, simple way to create extra work space in a kitchen. Can be easily rolled into an inconspicuous corner when not in use yet it still looks part of the kitchen. Like that it's all wood and that the baskets provide extra storage. Directions were a bit hard to follow, but doable.
Butcher Block Cart
Alan Arbuckle from Louisville, KY – Verified Buyer
long assembly time, fit together well, found one flaw in the underside of the butcher block and one basket had a loose corner that will need to be repaired, overall satisfied with the quality for what I paid
Laurie Weisensel from Waterloo, WI – Verified Buyer
I love this product. Although it was challenging to put together it was well worth the time and effort. The wood finish is better than i expected. I had an issue with one piece damaged in shipping and the customer service was great, and a new piece was at my door in 3 days. I will purchase from this company again.

Our product was easily assembled and looks gorgeous, complementing our kitchen decor and giving us the extra counter space and storage we needed to stay organized and look sharp. For its dimensions, it is a surprisingly versatile and convenient piece of furniture and we are very pleased!

This product is extremely time consuming and complicated to put to gather. The pieces dont fit together well and once done nothing functions! Our basket just fall off the rails if anything heavier than ONE apple is placed in them! The drawer fell off the rails after 3 weeks of using it and the only thing in the drawer is napkins. Basically, we cannot put anything in it or on it because the whole things is so unstable. The might be one of the worst products I have ever bought.
