Catskill Craftsmen is located in Stamford, New York, a small rural village nestled in the northern sections of the Catskill Mountains, at the headwaters of both the Schoharie and Delaware rivers.
Catskill Craftsmen began operations in 1948, and has developed over the years, becoming the nation's leading manufacturer of RTA (ready to assemble) hardwood kitchen islands, carts, and work-centers. The company is privately held, and takes great pride in its products and services.
Sixty dedicated employees work hard to insure that our products are delivered rapidly and meet your satisfaction. Catskill's manufactured items are made from naturally self-sustaining, non-endangered North American hardwoods, primarily birch and hard rock maple. Lumber is purchased from area sawmills, then dried, manufactured, and packaged on site. All sawdust, shavings and waste materials generated during the manufacturing process is converted into wood pellet fuel, and used to heat homes. Catskill is proud to say, "our operations generate no wood waste".
Catskill is also a leading manufacturer of exclusive, private label kitchen workcenters for the trade. Their products are described as "high quality at fair prices".

Great Cart with a great price...!
Juan from Seattle, WA– Verified Buyer
I bought this cart after months of searching in stores and on-line. This not only fit the space I was looking to fill (which was compact) but also functionally met all my high marks in what I was looking for in a kitchen cart. We were able to paint it the color I wanted since it was not stained already and was already prepped wood for painting which is awesome considering some carts are already covered in stain or sealant.. Neither in this case. The only drawback was putting it together, which I had anticipated but some of the hardware was funky to work with and I had not seen before, so be aware of this. Just follow the directions, they are written well and it will be accurate for you to put this together with success. Totally happy and use it 300% more than what I thought I would... Doubles great as a party island when you are hosting parties too given the extended leaf... FYI
Kitchen cart review

Overall I believe this is a very good product for the money I spent and my wife loves it which is probably most important. Since it comes unassembled and unfinished I took the time to rub all the parts with oil before assembly. I would have prefered to have the cabinet parts themselves prefinished and just the top unfinished. On the assembly I did need to add a few nails to the back panel and front rail below the top drawer to prevent them from bowing out. And some time in the future I will be changing out the wheels for a better quality wheel.

We are glad to have this in our kitchen. It's narrow enough that it doesn't block traffic per se, but the drawers are big enough to hold the things we want them to hold. We were surprised and happy to find that our Kitchen Aid stand mixer fits perfectly in the cabinet.

The kitchen cart looks teat in our kitchen now that is put together!! It's was quite a job putting it together especially with the drawers. Make sure you look CLOSELY at the diagrams , which way things are facing, etc. I had it almost all together when I realized I had a drawer slide upside down.

Thanks to other reviews I knew what to expect for the assembly and was able to handle it with ease by myself. An extra set of hands would have been useful to hold a couple of things in place, but I managed. The product is great so far, no complaints with it, but there are a couple of typos in the instructions (mislabeled screws) so read them carefully.
I love my kitchen cart

Not very hard to put together if you have another pair of hands.... Fits great in the smaller kitchen that I have to become accustomed to...one with NO drawers, that is what makes this so great....3 big drawers
Just what I needed.

I added just what I needed in countertop, shelf, and drawer space to my kitchen. Put it together, along with a shelving unit on my own during the snow days in early February. Wish they had included some ideas of ways to finish it. Oh, and it got here a couple of days earlier than expected so I was able to use the snow days.

Instructions were very accurate. Nice durable top but cheap flimsy bottoms of the drawers . I can't understand why they would make it so flimsy the whole thing is solid except for the base of the drawers and the middle part of the cabinet and drawers .
I like the island but difficult assembly!
teej from St. Louis, MO
The island looks good, very nice size for my small kitchen. However, the assembly is ridiculous. No pieces are marked, parts were missing (called and got them sent out quickly and without hassle other than the hassle of them not being included in the first place,) and had to modify instructions due to not having enough screws and screw holes not lining up. If you are a handy person or knowledgable with tools probably not as big a deal for you, but this took us (me and my mom) a good 5-7 hours to assemble...I would have gladly paid someone to assemble it had I known the trouble and frustration it was going to cause. Drawers are not quite opening well...need to lubricate everything and hoping with use they start to open more smoothly and softly.

I was anxious about making such a large purchase unseen, but I read the reviews, which were helpful. Since I realized there was extensive assembly, I was prepared (information is included for a service that will assemble, if needed). The product is beautiful and as pictured, and the quality is very good. I am very pleased. It' important to do a complete inventory right away. There were many missing pieces. Catskill was responsive and sent the missing pieces with no problem. I highly recommend.
