Catskill Craftsmen is located in Stamford, New York, a small rural village nestled in the northern sections of the Catskill Mountains, at the headwaters of both the Schoharie and Delaware rivers.
Catskill Craftsmen began operations in 1948, and has developed over the years, becoming the nation's leading manufacturer of RTA (ready to assemble) hardwood kitchen islands, carts, and work-centers. The company is privately held, and takes great pride in its products and services.
Sixty dedicated employees work hard to insure that our products are delivered rapidly and meet your satisfaction. Catskill's manufactured items are made from naturally self-sustaining, non-endangered North American hardwoods, primarily birch and hard rock maple. Lumber is purchased from area sawmills, then dried, manufactured, and packaged on site. All sawdust, shavings and waste materials generated during the manufacturing process is converted into wood pellet fuel, and used to heat homes. Catskill is proud to say, "our operations generate no wood waste".
Catskill is also a leading manufacturer of exclusive, private label kitchen workcenters for the trade. Their products are described as "high quality at fair prices".

This well designed and beautiful cabinet is made from solid wood. The instructions were straight forward and easy but it took 2 of us to put it together, no way I could of done this by myself, the wood is of substantial weight. We would of given this 5 stars except for the door, it doesn't shut perfectly (ever so slightly warped) but for our uses it is more than just fine. The door pulls are placed at the front panel cross- and I like this much better, it has a cleaner, finished look. Overall a beautiful cabinet!

This piece was pretty easy to assemble. It is the perfect size for my CD's and games. One of the doors has very dark wood grain which I'm not happy about. I want to paint mine but it is oil rubbed, so this could be a problem. There are some recommendations included for staining.

This is the second Catskill Craftsmen item I have purchased. It's made of real wood and was easy to assemble.

"Some assembly required"

Even a little old lady like myself was able to assemble this cabinet, although I'm sure it would have been a lot easier with two people. I called the manufacturer for a little technical support, and they were immediately avaiable and helpful. The door knobs are actually at the crossbars on my cabinet, unllike the model pictured above. In all, it's a nice piece for the pantry and perfect height for the microwave.

Nice looking cabinet for the money. Easy to put together, but I had to use a few of my own screws as the ones that were supplied did not fit properly. I thought it would have a nicer finish on it. They give you a coupon for a mail-in order ($6) for butcher block oil to wipe it down with. I might try that.
Love it except for the shelving pegs
Dori in Guilderland from Guilderland NY
I purchased 1 and loved it so much I bought a second one. Love the look and it totally matches other furniture in my kitchen. The one drawback I see with this product is the pegging used to hold the shelves inside. There are no wholes for pegs to brace the middle of the shelves. And I don't know if the wholes are deep enough for the existing pegs. Shelves keep falling off it items on them are of any weight. Made the mistake of putting dishes on one and 10 broken dishes later I've replaced them with tupperware. Love the unit, just don't put any items with any type of weight on the shelves.

The Catskill Kitchen Cabinet Cart is made of good quality material and came with excellent assembly instructions. The construction is different but after doing the Catskill Super Kitchen Cart this was much easier to put together. I didn't like how the front panels are held in place but it is working fine.
