Catskill Craftsmen is located in Stamford, New York, a small rural village nestled in the northern sections of the Catskill Mountains, at the headwaters of both the Schoharie and Delaware rivers.
Catskill Craftsmen began operations in 1948, and has developed over the years, becoming the nation's leading manufacturer of RTA (ready to assemble) hardwood kitchen islands, carts, and work-centers. The company is privately held, and takes great pride in its products and services.
Sixty dedicated employees work hard to insure that our products are delivered rapidly and meet your satisfaction. Catskill's manufactured items are made from naturally self-sustaining, non-endangered North American hardwoods, primarily birch and hard rock maple. Lumber is purchased from area sawmills, then dried, manufactured, and packaged on site. All sawdust, shavings and waste materials generated during the manufacturing process is converted into wood pellet fuel, and used to heat homes. Catskill is proud to say, "our operations generate no wood waste".
Catskill is also a leading manufacturer of exclusive, private label kitchen workcenters for the trade. Their products are described as "high quality at fair prices".

A nice addition to a small kitchen
Stephanie from New York, NY – Verified Buyer
This was literally the only kitchen cart I could find that would fit in the small and oddly shaped space (with a curved wall) in my tiny kitchen. Overall, it is nice but not of exceptionally high quality (though for the price I did not expect it to be). Was fairly difficult to put together for what it was. The saving grace is the top, which is real wood and looks very high quality and is solid. Overall very satisfied.
You get what you pay for

Few complaints with this product include the VERY tricky assembly due to the many parts and terrible wordless directions (I usually can handle most assembly with only minor issues but I had to redo multiple steps because the directions were so unclear. Also the locking castors don't lock, their were some paint chips and an important part came broken. Fortunately, Wayfair was very helpful replacing the broken piece and since the cart is the perfect size for my space I am going to deal with the imperfections.
A couple of glitches...

Works great a in a smaller kichen! One of the holes for the drawer was not even, and we had to drill a new hole to make level. Would have been easier to put the drawer mounts in before the top. But over all easy to assemble. Had to get a longer screw for one of the door handles. I love that you can put the top up and down....however had to customize by putting in metal brackets instead of just the wood onesunderneath for a sturdier top. Top is real wood and heavy. Over couldn't be happier for the price and quality of product.
Looks fantastic, but...

... this was one of the more challenging assembly jobs I've attempted, particularly given one of the six screws used to attach the handles was about 18 shorter than the others (necessitating a run to the hardware store), one of the wooden guides for the leaf bars was cut wrong (and had to be sanded), and the screw positions for the top piece are so close to the inside walls that it's very difficult to screw them all the way in. But in the end, the cart is very sturdy and looks fantastic.
Excellent, sturdy piece

I've been using this island for about 8 months now and it's been a great piece for me. It's been overall very sturdy and the size is great for my space. Drawbacks: the assembly was a pain and the instructions were as clear as mud, and the levers that prop up the leaf are made of a wood that's prone to cracking so don't plan on putting a lot of weight on the leaf without replacing those stands. Pros: great size, good price, sturdy, attractive Cons: directions were unclear, leaf prop is weak
great value for your money

This is the perfect compliment to my kitchen! It was fairly easy to assemble and looks very nice between my stove and fridge. Its the perfect amount of counter space next to the stove
Useful and compact..

Decent storage, compact size and fits a small kitchen. Took a bit time to built but not overwhelming.
Decent Unit, Poor Drawer
Neil from Toronto, ON – Verified Buyer
Overall, a decent unit. Most of the materials are of good quality, above the usual MDF materials. Drawer design is not great. The bottom is not strong enough, but worse than that, does not slide in at all smoothly; catches at back. An unfortunate design flaw, which is more than annoying...it makes the unit's practicality less than ideal. Instructions could be clearer - micro print and double-sided, which was annoying.
