One Issue with the block The problem with this cutting board is that, notwithstanding that it is end grain, it still has a definite grain direction which means you had better be wiping it off the right way or you'll snag the lint off your cloth or otherwise leave residue behind. I expected it to be generally smoother and I plan to try sanding it with a random-orbit sander 220 grit to see if that helps. It is certainly heavy and durable enough. |

Perfect This chopping block is perfect to leave out on the counter. It is beautiful to look at and wonderful to use. It wipes clean without leaving any residue of food chopped. Absolutely no complaints. |

Poorest quality - not for professionals Anyone looking for an end grain cutting board is likely to be a serious cook looking for a quality product. Be forewarned on this one - it is NOT for you. Within several months my board warped and developed cracks along the edges where the glue was failing. YES, I had been keeping the board properly oiled and protected from water. In a call to the manufacturer I received a bewildered reaction from the technician along with a suggestion that "perhaps you can fill the cracks with soft bees wax." So I have been following that suggestions and meticulously attending to oiling and drying down the board after every use. Sorry - the glue joints are now cracked EVERYWHERE, large food catching cracks through out the board. This board is headed for the trash. Too bad I could have bought a disposable cutting board for under $10. I am convince this was not an issue of poor handling but of poor construction. And my experience is not unique. Wish I had read the reviews before buying but you can read lots of them on other sites for yourself. |

Beautiful, practical, it's got it all! This is a great, heavy-duty chopping block. Not too much to say - keep it well-oiled, and it'll remain smooth and protect your counters from your knives! |

Product met exectations and more The chopping block seems to be well made (I've only had it a couple of months) and is an attractive addition to my kitchen. I use it a lot. |

Cutting review I was disappointed in the finish of this cutting board. The wood is so rough from lack of a finishing sanding that its impossible to run a cloth or paper towel over the surface since it gets caught on roughly finished wood. Also, the routed out finger grips on the side were chipped around the edges. I was very disappointed. |
