It took a while to get it steady (I have a popcorn surface ceiling and had to put a piece of cardboard between the top of the tower and the ceiling). My cat loves it - She is on it every day. I will say I am comfortable using it with just my one cat. She is a small size cat (a munchkin, 2 yrs old and about 3.5 pounds). I would feel much less at ease having a large cat or multiple cats jumping on the platforms.

Apparently I didn't measure my ceilings accurately, because the cat tree came to about 3 inches too tall. However, since this tree is so modular and easy to assemble, I simply removed the house part (which my cats don't care much for anyway) and now it fits perfectly.
