Cat Trees & Condos

My large and heavy male cat, watched every movement as this tree was unboxed in June and and followed it from the front door to its location. He promptly climbed to the top perch where he spends many hours looking outside daily. A neighbor cat who visits every day wrestles with him on it. My middle cat began using it after about four months. It is well made, solid, and has taken a lot of cat abuse yet still looks like new after seven months despite bits of carpet being clawed free. The cats use all three of the tallest posts for scratching AND climbing although two are carpeted posts. It never threatens to tip even when my herd hits it running at full speed! Molly & Friends makes the only cat condos worth bothering with. Rock solid, nice quality carpet, good size cradles/beds. All my cats adore all four condos. When we moved to a smaller, one-story house, I was worried that my cats would miss the open carpeted two-story staircase in our old house. I viewed many cat towers on the internet and decided to spend the money for this one and am glad I did. Two of my cats are young and very big and are rowdy enough to knock over anything less sturdy than the Pinnacle cat tower. They play and wrestle and nap on this all the time. The Ultimate Scratching Post is like a cat magnet. The moment it arrived our cat was attracted to its sisal covering, which is much more satisfying to her clawing needs than any piece of furniture. She begins every day working out on it and returns to it often. The perch has also been a big success. Sometimes she leaps up onto it and sometimes climbs the post as she would a tree and settles down to enjoy the elevated view. Our cat is relatively a relatively small 7 1/2 pounds. A very large cat might find the perch less comfortable for long stays. The sturdy base on the post means there is never any tipping. Attaching the perch to the post was not, however, as simple as the directions suggested, because the fit was not perfect. The opening on the bottom of the perch was too much wider than the wooden platform at the top of the post for the two to fit tightly together. In order to keep the perch from slipping off the post, I had to add some weather stripping on one edge of the perch's coupling structure and use a short mending plate in pace of one of the two plastic flanges supplied in order to bridge the gap between perch and the side of the top platform of the post. In spite of the inconvenience of having to make these adjustments, I would enthusiastically recommend this post and perch combination."..."  Read more
