The Ultimate Scratching Post is like a cat magnet. The moment it arrived our cat was attracted to its sisal covering, which is much more satisfying to her clawing needs than any piece of furniture. She begins every day working out on it and returns to it often. The perch has also been a big success. Sometimes she leaps up onto it and sometimes climbs the post as she would a tree and settles down to enjoy the elevated view. Our cat is relatively a relatively small 7 1/2 pounds. The opening on the bottom of the perch was too much wider than the wooden platform at the top of the post for the two to fit tightly together. In order to keep the perch from slipping off the post, I had to add some weather stripping on one edge of the perch's coupling structure and use a short mending plate in pace of one of the two plastic flanges supplied in order to bridge the gap between perch and the side of the top platform of the post. In spite of the inconvenience of having to make these adjustments, I would enthusiastically recommend this post and perch combination."..." Read more
