I purchased 2 of these for my home office. They are great and look fantastic in the room. They look just like the picture on the website. The fact that the backs are open (except for the one slat per shelf) gives them an open and airy feeling, which I really like. I plan to use them for some books, decorative items, picture frames, etc. so they are plenty sturdy for that. I don't think they are sturdy enough to be completely filled with heavy books, though, but for my purposes they are perfect. I enlisted my son to help me assemble them, but I probably could have done it by myself if necessary. All of the pieces fit together very well and easily. I think these were priced well, and I would definitely recommend them to a friend.
ELEGANT MAN CAVE

I purchased 2 bookcases for my husband's "Man Cave." He has wonderful Baltimore Ravens and Orioles keep-sakes and needed somewhere to display them. The four-shelf bookcases are perfect. They are beautifully made of wood and look more expensive than what I paid. I didn't tell my hubby that I was purchasing them for his special guy place - he does all the decorating for the Cave. When I suggested where they should go he agreed to try it out. They look so good for displaying his sports stuff, he kindly thanked me for my help and asked if I had any other suggestions for the Cave. This was a great purchase for my special guy and his special place. He can't wait to have his friends over for the next Raven's or Orioles game to show off his Cave.

I really like this shelf. I am using it in a eastern-Indian inspired space. It is exactly as posted, the color (mocha) is rich and looks very nice against my rust and navy blue carpet. I was able to put it together myself, in about 35 minutes. My only change would be to make the pre-drilled holes at the top of the unit, deeper. They are so shallow, it's hard to see them and they do not fix as well as they could. Otherwise, I'm happy with it. I used the fasteners to the wall. I'm not sure I would use freestanding, for things like books etc., especially on a carpet.
Montego 63" Bookcase

We bought 2 of these, one for our books (range between big/heavy, medium and small/light books) and some statues/decors on top. and the other one is for the kids books (light stuff and some toys on top) and the bookcase is light enough to move it by yourself and one person can assemble it (not fun to screw the shelves in place by yourself but doable) it is light so it will shake if some one shakes it. but you can use the attachment that comes with it to tight the top to the wall to keep it steady but we didn't use it (we just kept both in the office and kids are not allowed there). overall it serves it purpose nicely.

Shipped fast, no pieces were broken when it arrived. Fairly easy to put together with basic instructions, except that either I'm not strong enough or you'll need some real tools to make everything go together tightly enough that it doesn't lean a bit. I have it wedged between two sturdy pieces of furniture so that I could put books on the lower three shelves - so far it's held up just fine (I've had it up for about 3 weeks), but I wouldn't trust it to hold anything without the extra support. It's pretty lightweight, which is great for moving, but also compromises stability.

Looked for months to find a bookcase to fit a particularly shallow niche in my home. I did not want anything deeper than 12 inches and this fit my needs structurally as well as aesthetically. It came very well packed with plenty of spare hardware. The instructions were easy to understand and the whole piece was assembled in less than a half hour. It really is much nicer than I expected for the price I paid. It is my first purchase on Wayfair and it has given me cause to come back and look on several occasions. I highly recommend.

I was looking for a open and airy bookcase to go in our family room. One that wouldn't hold a ton of books, more like photos and accessories. This fit the bill perfectly. The width is good, not too big, not too narrow. And the height is great too. It was a little tricky to put together. Just take your time took time and refer to the directions often. Really it went together pretty easily. We did have to use the wall anchors as it was a bit rocky, but it could have been our hardwood floors being uneven. I painted the anchors to match the bookcase and then the portion that was on the wall was painted the wall color. You can't even see them anymore.
inexpensive but classy

Obviously you get what you pay for, I'm sure this won't last for 20 years, but it's what I wanted for the space and looks classier than your typical laminate furniture. Pretty easy to put together, one person can do it alone, but it's always easier with an extra set of hands. The espresso color was slightly lighter than I expected, I probably should have gone with black but overall I'm satisfied with the purchase.
Exactly what I needed.

Basically I needed a bookcase that would hold the pile of books that were accumulating in my apartment. What I like about this bookcase is, it was easy to put together, I could move it easily, and all my books fit perfectly on the shelves. This bookcase isn't that deep that you have space to put trinkets in front; the books fit to the edge, with a couple inches left. The size of the shelf doesn't take up a lot of space in a room, like other shelves could. I am very happy with it.

I have put together many pieces of furniture so I knew what I was getting into when I bought this bookcase. It was not too difficult by myself but would have been easier with another person. None of the parts were labeled and directions were not as clear as they could be but I was able to figure it out. That is the reason for giving this 4 stars instead of 5. Looks great and seems very sturdy. I put this in my dining room as an accent piece. Looks very nice!
