Nice piece... But read review!!

Ok, just bought and assembled this piece. Price is great. Looks great and modern once it is together. A couple notes however.
1. The quality of the piece is a couple steps above Ikea. it is laminated wood, NOT SOLID WOOD!(read on)
2. The TV shown in the picture must be a 32 flat screen. It's deceptive because I read that it said it could handle up to a 60 screen. (which it can weight wise I'm sure). I have a 50 and I assumed that I would be able to put my front right and left speakers on the low risers on either side. In actuality, my 50 TV stuck out over the sides of the top tier by a good 7 on both sides. So putting my speakers there was not an option. I did have a fix though, I just layed them down so they fit underneath the edges of the TV. I got lucky!
4. this is an attractive unit to me because I frequently need to have access to the back of my components and this is one of the few that is completely open in the back.
5. Lastly, because this IS made from particle board, I did reinforce all the pieces with 4 drywall screws and L brackets on the underside of each 90 degree part(so they aren't seen when assembled). I used 34 inch drywall crews for the brackets so as not to go through the laminate on the other side of the piece.
TIP: Instead of using the six legs provided, i bought 6 swivel casters(wheels) and attached to the bottom, so I can roll out the unit when need be.
I know this sounds like a lot, but, the total time to put this together WITH all the tweaks was about 2 hours if you have all the screws and brackets ready.
Once together, it is a stunning media center that will last a long time.
Hope this helps.
