Carson Optical introduces the Red Planet Series Telescope line. There are four models in the line, two of which are Newtonian Reflectors and two that are Refractors. The RP-100 and RP-300 are Newtonian Reflectors and the RP-200 and RP-400 are Refractors. Each model features superior, fully coated optics and a high quality, sturdy aluminum tripod. The RP-300 & RP-400 both feature sturdy equatorial mounts to counteract shaking and movements. They feature setting circles which allow you to dial in to find “latitude and longitude” to find specific stars, planets and constellations. Use the Red Planet line to view the Moons of Saturn or the Rings of Jupiter. The Red Planet line features a sophisticated and sleek design so much so you can keep in out all year round and it will blend nicely with any décor.

Nice grab and go scope

 from Louisiana– Verified Buyer

The size of the scope makes it an ideal portable for when you just want to take it outside quickly for a short while, or, throw it in the car to take camping. Good optics, decent mount, but sloppy focuser and poor finder scope. I reworked and re-greased the focuser to make it acceptable.
