The chest is beautiful and is the perfect size for blankets and miscellaneous storage items in the bedroom. My only problem is with some of the hardware and instructions that are needed for assembly. If you've never used cam screws and locks, they can be tricky. The instructions should specify that the screws should not be screwed in past the threads or the screw heads will not connect to the locks. Also, the locks are cast metal and break easily if you tighten them too much...the instructions specify to tighten them as the last step in assembly. If you're aware of these issues, the chest will assemble easily.

We got this to put as a chest at the end of our bed. It is a slightly dark finish and works well with our bedroom set. It does have a small spot on the top that is lighter than the rest of the trunk. It noticeable, but since it worked so with our other furniture, we decided to keep it.
Great piece of funiture

I was a little skeptical at first after reading reviews but the chest is as most of them described. It is a solid great looking piece of furniture. You will however need to run to the hardware store to buy different wood dowels.

It is a great piece of furniture. It is finished on both sides so you can use it as a coffee table too. It seems to be pretty solid. It wasn't too hard to put together. I would recommend it as an added piece for your living or family room.
appearance fine, stability not so much

the cam locks: 2 broke putting it together. You had to turn them tighter or it didn't stay together. One way the box fell apart and the other they brok. There was no inbetween. If it was solidly put together I'ld really like it. Instead of being in our living room, it's in a spare room
great chest for extra storage

I have this in my one of my spare bedrooms. I bought the white one and it makes for great storage. ou do have to put it together yourself. That is the only bad part, but it was pretty simple.

Great chest for the money! Storage was a problem for me and now I keep all linens for this room inside of the chest. Perfect.
Love My New Chest!
Judy from Levittown, PA– Verified Buyer
I purchased this chest to store things in that I don't have room for in my bedroom since moving into an apartment this past Spring & it looks so pretty! It took me about 45 minutes to put together, I did use some carpenters glue with the dowels & putting the lid on was a breeze! Everything lined up perfectly & it was in perfect condition when it arrived. I am very pleased with this purchase & it is a nice addition to my bedroom decor!
Looks nice, but...
Stephanie from Hilliard, OH– Verified Buyer
We had difficulty sssembling this piece. The lid wouldn't close properly, there was a lot of strain on the seams. We had to go out and buy reinforcements to put on the outside of the lid. The bottom screws didn't fit properly so we also had to drill into the bottom to properly secure it. It looks good in our room and will suffice for use as a toy box for now, but will have to replace with a nicer permanent piece later. Chestnut finish is also lighter than it appears in the image.
Wrong size pegs
William Boutelle from Florence, MA– Verified Buyer
Pegs provided were wrong size. Needed to go to hardware store for correct ones. Also, there were cracks showing light between panels. Fixed with caulk. Nice chest, but you need to be handy with tools to make it right.
