This rug replaced a very worn living room rug. The bright colors bring out all the accents in our decor. It is easily vacuumed with just an electric broom, and the cat can't pull out the tightly woven material. I had a couple of hours of burning in my nose and mouth after it arrived, due to chemical residue, which shocked me, since that is why I buy from Capel. Their rugs normally cause me no chemical problems. They did not send the concentric rectangle design of rug that I ordered, but luckily, I liked the striped one they sent even better. All of our Capel rugs slip if not anchored with RV no-slip counter matting strips. Rug backing has never worked, and we've tried 3 kinds. RV matting can be purchased from camping stores, but I wish Wayfair would consider selling it too (hint!)."..." Read more

This rug is well built and has a very comfortable feel to it. It is warm and inviting in feeling and color. I like the tightly-woven medium pile which is comfortable but not subject to shedding and collecting crumbs as some rugs often used in living spaces. Also, this wool rug is replacing wool rugs that we tried from other retail vendors. Those other rugs all shed an insane amount of fibers for months without ever stopping. The shedding should slow down after a few vacuum sessions and a month or so of use. This Capel rug has had none of those problems. I am giving it 4 stars for two relatively minor reasons
1. It is reasonably priced, not exceptionally priced. It is a good value and well worth the money at its current price. Perhaps a sale price would push this into great value territory.
2. The color is just slightly more brown than portrayed in the picture online. It is very subtle, but I would say it has more of the rust tones than I was expecting (I have a calibrated professional monitor so it wasnt my computer that was the problem). I still really like the color and it matches the room well enough. Its a very small discrepancy so dont panic over it, Im just mentioning it because I noticed it. After searching the Internet and our local stores, I found what I was looking for on line at Wayfair. I like the look of old fashioned braided rugs and the colors I selected go with our over all decorating color scheme. The smaller of the two rugs goes in front of the kitchen sink and the larger one is under a portable kitchen island. I like the richness and warmth it adds to our kitchen. I have been looking for some time for rugs to match my window treatments in my kitchen. The reds were to red and the off reds just did not go well. The brick red in these rugs is perfect! I have six grandchildren that eat at the table where I have one and so far the spills have cleaned up nicely.
