Canwood Furniture 6 Drawer Double Dresser - 786-1

I really like this dresser and even though I only rate it 2 stars, I would buy more furniture from Canwood. The drawers are solid pine and some of the structural pieces while the lacquered pieces are of particle board. Of all the self assemble furniture sets I have constructed this will probably outlast them all (when built right). This dresser took me 6 hours and required extra hardware not included. The Top was severely warped and the dowel holes overly large. I had to reinforce the frame with L brackets and wood glue. A couple pieced were miss drilled and miss cut requiring me to get out my saw and reshape a main piece. Here is a breakdown PROS: Solid wood parts. Nice finish Simple design is elegant Will last a long time CONS: requires a higher skill level to assemble, extra tools and parts,(be prepaired to spend extra money and time) directions are only pictorial non detailed and very vague. Top severely warped requiring reinforcements to correct Espresso color was more a cherry,(is much more red then brown), nothing like the sellers photo depicts. Took extra L brackets, wood glue and 6 hours to assemble Roller track wheels broke instantly requiring immediate repair and expense.

The manual gives one step instructions where IKEA would have five. Despite extreme care, the drawers do not align perfectly. Nevertheless , everything was well finished and for the price this is a very handsome piece.

Construction similar to [@], but very sturdy. Will last many years until she literally outgrows it (as it's kid sized).

ordered this product to complete our dresser in the nursery expecting the color to be the dark brown that "espresso" is described as. Although the label and box stated espresso, it is more of a cherry red color. Nothing like what I had expected it to be.

Very nice finish, good value. Side panels are not solid wood. A lot of pieces to assemble.

Great item for a kid's bedroom. We got it with the junior loft bed and it fit underneath perfectly with room behind for a fort!

Inside parts are made of wood. Outside parts are cheaply made. Not worth the money at all. Very low dresser will only work until age 3 or so. Takes forever to put together because every single drawer has to be put together.

The dresser went together pretty easy and the drawers slide without obstructions.

I purchased this dresser for my three year old son. After spending four hours putting it together (and I am usually fairly handy when putting things together), I noticed that two of the six drawers don't stay on the track. They keep falling off. Another drawer does not close all the way. Out of six drawers, only 3 work properly. I would never recommend this porduct to anyone. I am returning it as soon as possible since Canwood does not seem to want to help with the problem. After spending 30 minutes on the phone, they told me I will have to take pictures and send them in. After doing so, they said that it was a problem with the installation, and not their product. Even though every hole was predrilled. So this is going back and I will find another dresser that actually works as a dresser

Product is very sturdy but is smaller that I thought it would be. Took a little longer to put together as the direction were not always helpful.
