I’ve tried between 4-6 different hand strengthens, and this shares the top spot for me. There are a few things that could be improved upon that would make a clear winner by far. The other one that shares the top is Digi-flex. What that has that this doesn’t is the individual keys for isolation, and it can be used in different orientations. Where it falls short is ergonomics. That is where the Digi-Extend does a better job. Being a ball, it fits the hand better, and takes a lot of strain off the palm. Although you can isolate, it is a little less effective because the shape causes resistance to vary depending on where your finger is on the ball. Other weaknesses are the rubber bands. They are square, and catch on the plastic causing nicks that quickly lead to bands snapping. I also like the fact that you can do finder extensions (where you can’t with other hand exercisers), but the little clips don’t let the band slide easily, so you get very uneven tension, and it cause the band to twist a lot. Also, you can’t adjust where on your finger the band hits, so it is better positioned for some fingers over others. It is also really hard to get the bands on, as the retaining clips are very difficult to open and slip the band past. Even with these drawbacks it is still a good product because it does things others don’t and offers ergonomics that are important.
