Cuisinart Deluxe Can Opener stands up to it's name. It's tall enough for most larger cans, runs quiet, has a good balance so as not to tip while opening a can, and looks nice! The cutter pops off for easy cleaning, it has a magnet to hold the top after it's cut off, and the lever for the cutter moves smoothly. For a basic can opener, it's really a nice one. This opener is so slick that I actually look forward to opening cans with it. The ratchet action of the handle is especially good for people with hand injuries, arthritis, or anything else that impairs a normal hand grip. Also great is the fact that contents of the can don't get on the opener, so there's no mess to clean up -- and, of course, there are no sharp edges. The only problem I had at first was figuring out how to use the little "hooks" on the gripper to lift the lid off the can, but that was probably because I didn't look at the instructions first.
