The picture is deceiving since it looks like light wood (maple) but is actually a cherry finish. They need to take this picture off. This unit is of higher quality then units we considered at local furniture stores for much more $$. Assembly was not difficult, but do plan about an hour to fully assemble. Service Review The box arrived with the corner creased, after majority of the stand assembled, and upo putting top on, we found a chunk missing in the corner and another ding from where package had been creased..
