I purchased the bunkbeds for my 2 younger boys and they are thrilled to death about it. I didn't assembe it myself- I hired a carpenter to do it. There is no way i would sleep soundly with my kids sleeping in a bed that I'd put together! The carpenters did have a little trouble getting it up, but it looks great. I don't know if it was the carpenter's fault or the construction of the bed itself, but the drawers underneath slide all the way back instead of staying flush to the front of the bed. The only thing- be careful on the stairs if you have younger kids. My 15 month old LOVES to climb the stairs and shimmy off the stairs between the two bunks instead of climbing back down. It scares me to death, but he hasn't gotten hurt once and he does it a million times every day! My 4 year old immediately ran up to claim the top bed as "his bed". Everyone thought the fight would be over having the bottom bunk as it is the bigger bed, but that is not the case. My 15 month old will eventually move from his crib in my bedroom to the bottom bunk.... at which time my 12 year old will be upset because he has been sleeping on the bottom bunk since we got the bed a month ago. This is very upsetting to me because I had redone his bedroom first and he has totally neglected it to sleep in his little brother's room! [...]I also had thought the stairs would be on the right, they are to the left of the bed, so that made me have to reconfigure the design I'd come up with for the room- but it looks great.I love the novelty of the stairs instead of the ladder and my son is so happy to go to bed now.... that alone is a miracle!"..." The bed is used for my 2 young children and they love it! The beds are spacious enough that it will follow them into their teenager years. We purchased the drawers and they fit perfectly under the bed. We actually used the remaining space behind the drawers to store the old crib mattress and spring. The bed was fairly easy to assemble, but definitely at some point a second person is needed to lift the top bed onto the lower. Now for the price, we got the bed that we were looking for; affordable, nice looking, well made, but 1 of the pieced was machined just about a quarter (1/4) inch misaligned, so with some help from someone who knows furniture they were able to make it fit without sacrificing safety. The only other issue is the support beam in the middle of both of the beds. I understand that excessive weight should not be placed on the top bunk, but we decided to reinforce it due to the fact that the manufacture issued one is a single 2 x 2 (1 beam had knots in the wood). 1 night of SLEEPING on the top bunk by my mother-in-law and daughter (less than 200 lbs) caused the beam to break. Re decided, again with the help of someone who works with wood, to add 2 x 4's to prevent any further breakage. Overall we are extremely satisfied with the bed and for the price it can't be beat. I shopped plenty of local places and the total cost of the bed was anywhere from $100 - $400 less (with shipping included). I would definitely recommend this to other folks!!!"..." Read more

We have just moved and needed to wisely use space for our two girls to share a room. The underneath draws are helpful but do not attach to the bed frame so the whole set of draws moves around easily. But they are great for kids clothes! We bought this set because it can be made into seperate beds in the future. Also we liked that the ladder does not go all the way to the floor thus giving us more floor space and less tripping hazards. We had one of the pieces break when we were assembling the bed due to a defect in the wood. Wayfair replaced the piece no questions asked and did it quickly. The fact that it came with the underneath draws and the bunk bed slats all as one competative price was another reason we purchased this. Our girls love the bed and it is nice to be able to lay down with them for stories before they go to sleep."..." Read more

We decided to have our 3 and 4 year old sons share a room. Our oldest wanted a bunk so bad, but I was a little concerned. We got this bunk because it had a staircase rather than a ladder and it's solid wood. The delivery was prompt, the bed was fairly easy to assemble. We purchased a 7 3/4 inche foam mattress for the top, which allowed for a safe railing. The bootom bunk has a bookshelf, which we use to keep our books for our nightly routine. We have the full bed at the bottom so I can lay down with both of my boys, read stories, then my oldest will climb in his bunk. The boys have been sleeping better than ever and have added 45 minutes to an hour to their morning sleep! LOVE this bed."..." Read more
