I purchased the bunkbeds for my 2 younger boys and they are thrilled to death about it. I didn't assembe it myself- I hired a carpenter to do it. There is no way i would sleep soundly with my kids sleeping in a bed that I'd put together! The carpenters did have a little trouble getting it up, but it looks great. I don't know if it was the carpenter's fault or the construction of the bed itself, but the drawers underneath slide all the way back instead of staying flush to the front of the bed. The only thing- be careful on the stairs if you have younger kids. My 15 month old LOVES to climb the stairs and shimmy off the stairs between the two bunks instead of climbing back down. It scares me to death, but he hasn't gotten hurt once and he does it a million times every day! My 4 year old immediately ran up to claim the top bed as "his bed". Everyone thought the fight would be over having the bottom bunk as it is the bigger bed, but that is not the case. My 15 month old will eventually move from his crib in my bedroom to the bottom bunk.... at which time my 12 year old will be upset because he has been sleeping on the bottom bunk since we got the bed a month ago. This is very upsetting to me because I had redone his bedroom first and he has totally neglected it to sleep in his little brother's room! [...]I also had thought the stairs would be on the right, they are to the left of the bed, so that made me have to reconfigure the design I'd come up with for the room- but it looks great.I love the novelty of the stairs instead of the ladder and my son is so happy to go to bed now.... that alone is a miracle!"..."  Read more

This is a beautiful bed. We waited a long time for it, now that it has finally arrived,it was worth it. It is larger than I expected it to be, even though we took measuremnets but I dont care. My girls love their new bed. The shelves under the top bunk go all the way behind the stairs for more storage. Even under the bottom bunk can be used for storage. My little one loves to hide under there for now. This bed is great for toddlers because the stairs are safe enough to go up and down on them without getting hurt as with a ladder. Another great feature is that the bottom bunk has wheels on the head board to make it easy to move the bed for cleaning. There was mentioning in another review about the lower bed developing a cavity in the mattress due to lack of support. I didnt care, I figured when we got our set we will figure out a way to better support the mattress for the bottom bed. We didnt even have to worry about that it had already been corrected with more support beams added."..."  Read more

The bed is used for my 2 young children and they love it! The beds are spacious enough that it will follow them into their teenager years. We purchased the drawers and they fit perfectly under the bed. We actually used the remaining space behind the drawers to store the old crib mattress and spring. The bed was fairly easy to assemble, but definitely at some point a second person is needed to lift the top bed onto the lower. Now for the price, we got the bed that we were looking for; affordable, nice looking, well made, but 1 of the pieced was machined just about a quarter (1/4) inch misaligned, so with some help from someone who knows furniture they were able to make it fit without sacrificing safety. The only other issue is the support beam in the middle of both of the beds. I understand that excessive weight should not be placed on the top bunk, but we decided to reinforce it due to the fact that the manufacture issued one is a single 2 x 2 (1 beam had knots in the wood). 1 night of SLEEPING on the top bunk by my mother-in-law and daughter (less than 200 lbs) caused the beam to break. Re decided, again with the help of someone who works with wood, to add 2 x 4's to prevent any further breakage. Overall we are extremely satisfied with the bed and for the price it can't be beat. I shopped plenty of local places and the total cost of the bed was anywhere from $100 - $400 less (with shipping included). I would definitely recommend this to other folks!!!"..."  Read more

Got these beds for my kids bunk room. They are really great. The construction quality is amazing, well made out of solid oak (and maybe elm) wood. The painted finish is very durable. Our kids have been using these for months now and love them. Easy for them to get up and down the stairs, and very sturdy for adults to climb up too. There are many slats that support the mattresses so very secure even with a lot of weight no the top bunk. These are not the cheapest but are really worth the money. We also own a Berg bunk bed set that we purchased on Wayfair. That set has a very different design, and is mainly partical board and laminates, it is fine, but this one it really nice. This Vermont Tubbs bed will last for generations! Simple to assemble. We really love it!"..."  Read more
