The bed is used for my 2 young children and they love it! The beds are spacious enough that it will follow them into their teenager years. We purchased the drawers and they fit perfectly under the bed. We actually used the remaining space behind the drawers to store the old crib mattress and spring. The bed was fairly easy to assemble, but definitely at some point a second person is needed to lift the top bed onto the lower. Now for the price, we got the bed that we were looking for; affordable, nice looking, well made, but 1 of the pieced was machined just about a quarter (1/4) inch misaligned, so with some help from someone who knows furniture they were able to make it fit without sacrificing safety. The only other issue is the support beam in the middle of both of the beds. I understand that excessive weight should not be placed on the top bunk, but we decided to reinforce it due to the fact that the manufacture issued one is a single 2 x 2 (1 beam had knots in the wood). 1 night of SLEEPING on the top bunk by my mother-in-law and daughter (less than 200 lbs) caused the beam to break. Re decided, again with the help of someone who works with wood, to add 2 x 4's to prevent any further breakage. Overall we are extremely satisfied with the bed and for the price it can't be beat. I shopped plenty of local places and the total cost of the bed was anywhere from $100 - $400 less (with shipping included). I would definitely recommend this to other folks!!!"..."  Read more

We were looking for a well made all wood (not particle board or pressed wood) bunkbed for our girls with under bed storage. We wanted a bed with good slat support and tha had a built in ladder and that could be configured so the ladder could be placed on either side and on either end of the bed. This is a great bed that met our needs. Pros: The bed arrived well packaged and only the head boards needed two people to bring it in the house. The other packaged parts could easily be carried by one person. Assembly was easier than I anticipated and can be done by one person. The design allows for tight fitting junctions and for dissassembly without fear breaking the bed, too. The wood and finish are hard and resistant to dents and scratches. The under bed drawers are deep Cons: Drawers are not in tracks or guides so when we move the bed, we have to adjust drawers back into place (minor con). The draweres roll in & out via good quality rollers on the bottom of the drawers themselves."..."  Read more

I love the bunk bed set but, I did have extra more sturdy slats made for them. The set comes with 3 slats for each bed which are not enough. Especially if you have pre-teen boys. I had 5 extra slats made for each bed. I still wasn't comfortable that the slats wouldn't bust so I added a sheet of Plywood on top. We got custody of two boys and had to put them in the room with two of my other boys. These beds are perfect for the four of them. They don't overwhelm the room at all - the room seems just as spacious as when there were just two full beds in it. The only con is that if you put the guard rails on (we put one set on one bed)it is difficult to tuck in the sheets and comforter but this would probably be true for any bunk bed with rails.
